YAVRU ERKEK SIÇANLARDA VİTAMİN E UYGULAMASININ ÖĞRENME ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ

Abstract

Sinir sisteminin yüksek fonksiyonlarından biri olan öğrenme; sosyal ve fiziksel çevre ve fizyolojik koşullardaki değişikliklerden etkilenir. Çeşitli vitaminlerin öğrenme üzerine etkilerini araştıran birçok çalışma bulunmaktadır. Özellikle antioksidan etkili vitaminlerin, değişik nedenlerle öğrenmede meydana gelen bozuklukları düzelttiği bildirilmekte ise de bu konuda çelişkili bazı bilgiler bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı yavru erkek sıçanlarda 30 gün süreyle uygulanan vitamin E’nin yer bulma öğrenmesine olan etkisini araştırılmaktadır. Bu amaçla 30 adet, yavru erkek Wistar Albino sıçan; vitamin E, çözücü kontrol ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere eşit sayıda sıçan bulunan üç gruba ayrıldı. Vitamin E grubuna 40 mg/kg/gün E vitamini, çözücü kontrol grubuna 0.34 ml/kg/gün zeytinyağı 30 gün boyunca günde 1 kez intraperitonal olarak uygulandı. Uygulamaların sonrasında sıçanların Morris su tankındaki sabit platformu yüzerek bulma yetenekleri, ardışık 3 gün öğrenme fazı, dördüncü gün test fazı ve 5. günün 5. denemesinde platformsuz havuzda reversal öğrenme fazı olarak test edildi sıçanlara test için her bir günde 30 dakika ara ile toplam dört yüzme yaptırıldı.. Testlerin değerlendirilmesi için sıçanların platformu bulma süreleri ve platformlu yarı alanda geçirdikleri sürenin toplam sürenin yüzdesi cinsinden değerleri belirlenip istatistiksel olarak analiz edildi. Bulguların grup içi günler arası karşılaştırmalarında farklılık anlamlı bulundu (p<0.05). Bu bulguya dayanarak uygulanan 3 günlük öğrenme periyodunun yeterli olduğu düşünüldü. Gruplar arası fark ise anlamsız bulundu (p>0.05). Sonuç olarak çalışmamızda; kısa süreli E vitamini uygulamasının yavru erkek sıçanlarda yer bulma öğrenmesiyle ilgili bilişsel işlevler üzerinde herhangi bir etkisinin olmadığı belirlendi. Vitamin E”nin öğrenme üzerindeki etkisinin uygulama dozu ve süresi ile ilişkili olabileceği kanısına varıldı.

The Effect of Vitamin E on Learning in Male Juvenile Rats

Abstract

Learning that a high function of neural system influenced variation of physiological conditions, social and physical environmental conditions. There are many studies on effects of vitamins on learning. especially ; it is reported that the vitamins which in order to effective antioxidant prevented deficits of learning. İn the present study the influence of vitamin E intake on spatial learning of male juvenile rats duration of 30 days has been investigated. For this purpose, total of 30 male juvenile Wistar albina rats aged 28 days were divided into 3 equal groups. Solving control group 0,34 ml/kg/day olive oil, vitamin E group 40 mg/kg/day vitamin E were treated for 30 days with a single daily intraperitoneal injections. After injections rats were tested for their ability to find the location of platform in the Morris water maze (spatial learning) , 3 days learning phase, fourth day in fifth trial tested phase and fifth day reversal learning is without platform pool too. Each days were done daily four swimming interval 30 minute. The time spent to find the platform and the time spent in half area of the tank including the platform in a value representing the percentage in the total time were compared statistically. There was meaningful difference compaired of training within groups (p<0,05) and all groups increased learning performance. There was significant difference between groups.(p>0,05). These results indicate that the short period supplementation with vitamin E has not improved cognitive function interested in spatial learning in the male juvenile rats. It was concluded that the effect of vitamin E intake on learning is related with the tried duration of vitamin E and dose injection.
