Osmanlı toplumunun Batı müziği ile tanışması bir hayli eskilere dayanmaktadır. Ancak
Osmanlı Batılılaşma serüveninde hemen her alanda olduğu gibi musikide de “yenileşme”
kararının ilanı Tanzimat’la olur. 1908 Meşrutiyeti ile ise millî bir musiki oluşturmanın yolları
aranmaya başlanır. Yapılan çalışmalarla bir yandan klasik Türk musikisinin kaynaklarına
inilir, öte yandan müzik araştırmacılığının, tarihinin ve müzik bilgisinin önemi vurgulanır.
1325-1330 (1909-1914) tarihleri arasında beş yıl süreyle yüz sayı çıkan Şehbal dergisi,
bu çalışmaların kamuoyu ile paylaşılması ve bir tartışma zemini oluşturması bakımından
önemli bir işleve sahip olur. Biz makalemizde ilk sayısından itibaren klasik Türk musikisi
eserlerini ve müzisyenlerini yeniden gündeme getiren, müzik araştırmacılığı ve müzik tarihi
konularında kamuoyunu bilgilendirmeyi hedefleyen Şehbal dergisinden yola çıkarak, millî
musikinin inşa sürecine ışık tutmaya çalıştık.
Ottoman Society was acquainted with the West Music in days of old. But, it was taken
a decision for innovation in Tanzimat reform era as in other areas. An attempt began for
constitution of a national music in the Second Constitutional Period. With these works, the
sources of Classical Turkish Music was searched, on the other hand, researches in Music,
the history of Music and musical knowledge were emphasized. Şehbal Bulletin which was
published between 1325-1330 (1909-1914) had an important place in terms of creating a
basis for discussion. In this paper, we tried to set light to the process of constuction the national
music based on Şehbal Bulletin which reawaken works on Classical Music and musicians
and enlightened people on researches on Music and this history of Music.

With this in mind, we request from our author candidates to edit their article accordingly before sending it to the journal.
