Türkler, Ermeniler, Araplar ve Rumlar tarihin belli dönemlerinde birbirleriyle bazen
savaşarak, bazen ticaret yoluyla, bazen de dini sebeplerle ilişkilerde bulunmuşlardır. Tabii bu
durum, sözünü ettiğimiz halkların ortak bilincinde farklı anlatı türlerinin doğmasına sebep
olmuştur. Tarihi olaylar bu anlatı türleri içinde, her toplumun bakış açısı, dini anlayışı ve
hayat görüşüne göre şekillenmiştir. Battal-nâme, Digenis Akritas ve Sasonlu Tavit destanları
ve bu destanların kahramanları dile getirdiğimiz tarihi olayların farklı farklı anlatılmalarının
başarılı birer örneğini teşkil ederler.
Biz, bu çalışmamızda bu üç destandan Digenis Akritas’ı ve Sasonlu Tavit’i tanıtırken
aynı zamanda destan kahramanlarını Lord Raglan’ın Geleneksel Kahraman Kalıbı’na göre
karşılaştırarak Türk destanlarındaki kahraman kalıbının bazı özelliklerini de belirlemeye
gayret gösterdik. Bunu yapmamızdaki maksat, sadece milli bir kahraman prototipi çıkarmak
değil, bunun yanında tarihte bir şekilde münasebette bulunduğumuz toplumların destan
gelenekleri, daha geniş bir ifadeyle sözlü anlatı gelenekleri, hakkında bilgi sahibi olmaktır.

Turks, Arabs, Armenians and Greeks are fights with each other in certain periods of
history. They were found in relationships sometimes trade via, sometimes religious reasons.
This case, in the collective conscioussnes of people we spoke a different kind of narrative has
led to the creation. The historical event, has been shaped by every aspects of society, religious
understanding and view of life, in his narrative species. Battal-nâme, Digenis Akritas and
David of Sassoun are succefull examples of this events. We evaluated this epos according to
Lord Raglan’s Traditional Heroic Patterns. In this way, we showed some patterns of heroic
epos of Turkish. However, we did not just want to take the prototype of a national hero. Apart
from this, we are in a relationships in history is to have knowledge about not just epic, but
oral tradition.
