PARADİGMA KAVRAMI AÇISINDAN İBNÜ’L HEYSEM’İN NESNEIŞIN KURAMI

Abstract

Bilim tarihindeki kuram değişimleri, bilim felsefesi açısından önemli tartışmalara konu olmuştur. Görme kuramları Antik Çağ’dan itibaren farklı şekillerde ele alınmış olsa da uzun süre gözden çıkan ışınlarla görmenin gerçekleştiği kuramı baskınlığını korumuş ve bu kuramın eksiklikleri bilimsel yöntemlerle yeterince sorgulanmamış ve çürütülmemiştir. İbnü’l-Heysem, Orta Çağ’da yaptığı çalışmalarla Gözışın Kuramı’nın eksikliklerini ortaya koyarak ışığın nesnelerden göze ulaştığını kanıtlamıştır. Özellikle karanlık oda deneyi ile ışığın doğrusal hareket ettiğini ve görmenin nesnelerden gelen ışık sayesinde gerçekleştiğini göstermiştir. T. Kuhn’un paradigma değişimi teorisi bağlamında bu dönüşüm, bilim tarihinde bir paradigma değişimi olarak değerlendirilebilir. Bu bakımdan İbnü’l-Heysem’in deneysel yöntemi ve bilim anlayışı bilimsel bilginin nasıl ilerlediğini göstermiştir. Onun çalışmaları, yalnızca optikte değil, bilimsel yöntemlerin gelişiminde de kritik bir dönüm noktası oluşturmuş ve modern bilime önemli katkılar sağlamıştır.

IBN AL-HAYTHAM’S INTROMISSION THEORY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PARADIGM SHIFT

Abstract

The shifts in scientific theories have been a significant topic of discussion in the philosophy of science. Although vision theories have been approached in various ways since Ancient Age, the theory that vision occurs through rays emitted from eyes prevailed for a long time. However, the shortcomings of this theory were not questioned or falsified scientific methods. In the Middle Ages, Ibn al-Haytham identified the deficiencies of the Extramission Theory and demonstrated that light reaches the eye from objects. Through his camera obscura experiment, he proved that light travels in straight lines and vision occurs because of light coming from objects. In the context of Kuhn’s paradigm shift theory, this transformation can be regarded as a paradigm shift in the history of science. From this perspective, Ibn al-Haytham’s experimental approach and understanding of science illustrates how scientific knowledge progresses. His contributions were not only pivotal in optics but also played a crucial role in the development of scientific methodology, making a profound impact on modern science.
