FELSEFİ FARKLILAŞMA SORULARDAN DEĞİL CEVAPLARDAN DOĞAR: SOFİSTLER VE PLATON

Öz

Bu bildirinin ana konusu, felsefi farklılaşmanın birincil etmeninin felsefenin sorduğu sorular değil, bu sorulara verilen cevaplar olduğu gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bilindiği gibi antik Yunan felsefesinin çıkış noktası ‘varolan’ın neliği ya da başka bir ifadeyle varolan tözün ne olduğu olmuştur. Bu bağlamda, ‘varolan nedir?’ sorusu felsefenin ilk sorusudur denilebilir. Doğa filozofları bu soruya maddi bir dayanak ya da tözle çözüm bulmaya çalışmışlardır. Ancak sofistler doğa filozoflarının bu çabalarını yetersiz hatta çelişik bulmuşlar ve felsefenin temel konusunun insan olması gerektiğini savunarak yeni bir geleneğin başlangıcını oluşturmuşlardır. Onlar insanın bilme ediminden bağımsız, mutlak bir varlık anlayışına karşı çıkmışlardır. Platon ise sofist gelenekteki görececi bilgi anlayışına karşı çıkarak varolanın ancak mutlak Formlar olabileceğini ileri sürmüştür. Bu çerçevede bildiri ‘varolan nedir?’ ve ‘varolan nasıl bilinebilir?’ sorularını temel alarak, bu iki soruya verilen yanıtlarla felsefede farklı öğretilerin nasıl ortaya çıktığını sofistler ve Platon örneğiyle göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır

Philosophy Comes out from Answers: Sophists and Plato

Abstract

The main subject of this assertion is that the fundamental reason of philosophical difference is not questions asked by philosophy, but answers given for these questions. As it is known, the origin of ancient Greek philosophy is ‘whatness of being’, in other words, ‘what is substance’. Nature philosophers have attempted to get a solution to this question by a material substratum. However, the sophists accepted the endeavors of the nature philosophers inadequate and contradictory. Sophists rejected the understanding that ‘being’ is absolute and independent from human’s knowing. Plato, however, did not accept the relativistic understanding of knowledge, and he maintained that ‘being’ must be absolute Forms. In this framework, with these two questions, ‘what is being?’ and ‘how can being be known?’, and with answers to them, how philosophical difference occurs in philosophy is tried to show in this paper by the cases of the sophists and Plato.
