Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Aristotelesçi bir kavrayış içinden sosyal bilimin önemini ve işlevini ele alıp tartışmaktır. Politike’nin, içerdiği konular bakımından sosyal bilime karşılık geldiğini söylemek olanaklıdır. Çünkü Aristoteles politike terimini sosyolojik, psikolojik, antropolojik ve ekonomik problemleri ve konuları ele alıp tartıştığı Politika ve Etik’te kullanır.Aristoteles sosyal bilimin olanaklı olup olmadığını sorgulamaktan çok, ne tür bir sosyal bilimin olanaklı olduğu sorusu ile ilgilenir görünür. Ben de bu soruyu izleyerek Aristotelesçi kavrayış ışığında çağımızın önde gelen iki sosyal bilim anlayışını -pozitivizm ve hermeneutik- ele alıp incelemeye çalışarak onların her birinin yalnız yanlış değil, aynı zamanda çok temelli bir biçimde eksik de olduklarını göstermeye çalışacağım. Ayrıca W. Dilthey tarafından temsil edilen modern hermeneutiğin bilim anlayışını sorgulayarak bu konuda özellikle Ihde ve Latour’un görüşleri üzerinde duracağım

On Aristotelian Comprehensiom of Social Sciences, Positivism and Hermeneutics

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the importance and function of social science from Aristotelian point of view. Politike is rendered the equivalent of social science with regard to the subject matter it covers. Aristotle uses the term politike throughout the Politics and Ethics where sociological, psychological, anthropological and economical issues are considered. Aristotle does not appear to question the possibility of social science but rather he seems to be interested in defining what kind of a science it is. So in the light of this Aristotelian spirit I try to examine two leading views- positivism and hermeneutics- on social science and claim that they are not only wrong but significantly incomplete. In addition to that I also particularly call into question the conception of science by modern hermeneutics which is representented by W.Dilthey.In doing so I shall mainly concentrate on the views of Ihde and Latour
