In the Name of “Democracy to Come”: Derrida’s “Friendship”

Abstract

This study can be considered as a short introduction essay regarding why Derrida considers friendship indispensable for “democracy to come”. In this essay that why friendship cognizance based on fraternity or congenerical participation is a threat for democracy is being focused on and puts forth the political context of Derrida’s concept of friendship, the necessity of deconstruction of the traditional friendship in the name of “democracy to come”, is to be approached

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Derrida’nın, dostluğu “gelecek demokrasi” için neden vazgeçilmez gördüğüne ilişkin kısa bir giriş denemesi niteliğindedir. Kardeşlik ya da kökensel ortaklıklar temelinde düşünülen dostluk anlayışının demokrasi için neden bir tehlike oluşturduğunu ve dostluk kavramının Derrida’daki politik bağlamını ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bu yazıda, geleneksel dostluğun “gelecek demokrasi” adına yapısöküme uğratılması gerekliliği ele alınmaktadır
