VOID OF THE OTHER AS AN OCCASION OF DISCLOSURE OF TERRA INCOGNITA

Year 2020, Issue: 30, 1 - 16, 10.12.2020

Abstract

The most fundamental manifestation of the void of a human being in social and private realms seems to appear in its ontological sense which determines and shapes his /her basic condition in the world. Even if Heidegger describes fundamental human condition in the world with the notion of ‘Dasein’ (being-there), I am inclined to take this word not solely as openness toward the world within a historical horizon, but also as free space or void just reserved for his /her individual being. Each human being is born within the void opened and reserved just for his /her being, and it remains open as long as he/she is remembered after his/her death. This paper will try to explore different manifestations of void in our relation to other, and make a claim that void of the other functions paradoxically as visibility of invisible. In other word, void or invisible reveals itself mostly indirectly with different forms and names.

BİLİNMEYEN ALAN (TERRA INCOGNITA)’IN KEŞFİNE BİR VESİLE OLARAK ÖTEKİNİN BOŞLUĞU

Year 2020, Issue: 30, 1 - 16, 10.12.2020
