The Perception of Poverty in Rural Areas: Case of Tokat Province-Zile County

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the perception of poverty in rural areas and people’s viewpoint of poverty who live in rural areas within the example of Tokat province – Zile county. In the study, 86 people from 9 villages were questioned for the questionnaire. In the light of the information obtained from the questionnaire, people’s socio-economical and demographical characteristics are stated, their viewpoints of poverty are put forward and their definitions of poverty are determined. According to the results of the study, %26 of the people who participated in the questionnaire do not consider themselves in the class of wealthy

Kırsal Kesimde Yoksulluk Algısı: Tokat İli Zile İlçesi Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, kırsal kesimde yoksulluk algısını ve kırsal kesimde yaşayan insanların yoksulluğa bakış açısını Tokat ili Zile ilçesi örneği ile değerlendirmektir. Çalışmada Zile ilçesinde 9 köyde toplam 86 kişi ile anket yapılmıştır. Bu anketten elde edilen veriler ile kişilerin sosyoekonomik ve demografik özellikleri belirlenmiş, yoksulluğa bakış açıları ortaya konmuş ve kişilerin yoksulluk tanımları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bazı sonuçlara göre kişilerin %26’sı kendini yoksul hissederken hiçbir birey kendini zengin sınıfında görmemektedir
