Abstract

In this study is to examine the relationship between physical literacy, physical activity behavior and extracurricular sport activities. The research was designed with a descriptive survey design, one of the quantitative research approaches. A total of 276 participants, 103 (37.3%) female and 173 (62.7) male, aged between 12 and 18, who were studying at secondary and high schools in Trabzon city center in 2022, and playing sports in different sports clubs, were included in the research. In the research, “Perceived physical literacy scale for adolescents” adapted into Turkish by Yılmaz and Kabak (2021), “Student attitude scale towards extracurricular sports activities” developed by Yılmaz and Güven (2018), and Eskiler et al., (2016) “Cognitive behavioral physical activity scale” adapted into Turkish was used. In the analysis of data; descriptive statistics, independent groups t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. In the study, it was determined that my participants had higher levels of physical literacy, attitudes towards extracurricular sports activities, and physical activity behaviors, and that the participants who did sports were more likely to have these characteristics than those who did not. On the other hand, it was determined that there was a positive low-level significant relationship between extracurricular sport activity and the year of sport. It has been determined that there is a significant difference in terms of these three characteristics according to the sports branch. In addition, a highly significant positive correlation was obtained between physical activity and body literacy and physical literacy. Physical literacy and physical activity behavior together explain the attitude towards extracurricular sports activities by 44%. As a result, it is important to provide physical activity behavior and physical literacy gains in order to positively affect the participation and attitude of the participants in extracurricular sports activities.

Beden Okuryazarlığı Fiziksel Aktivite Davranışı ve Ders Dışı Sportif Etkinlikler Arasındaki İlişki

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı, ergenlerin beden okuryazarlığı fiziksel aktivite davranışı ve ders dışı sportif etkinlikler arasındaki ilişkiye yönelik görüşlerini incelemektir. Nicel araştırma yaklaşımlarından betimsel tarama deseniyle araştırma kurgulanmıştır. Araştırma, 2022 yılında Trabzon il merkezindeki ortaokul ve liselerde öğrenim gören öğrenciler ve farklı spor kulüplerinde spor yapan yaşları 12 ila 18 arasında değişen 103’ü (%37.3) kadın, 173’ü (62.7)erkek toplam 276 katılımcı dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada Yılmaz ve Kabak’ın (2021) Türkçe’ye uyarlamasını yaptıkları “Ergenler için algılanan beden okuryazarlığı ölçeği”, Yılmaz ve Güven’in (2018) geliştirdiği “Ders dışı sportif etkinliklere yönelik öğrenci tutum ölçeği” ve Eskiler ve ark., (2016) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlaması yapılan “Bilişsel davranışçı fiziksel aktivite ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Veri analizinde; betimsel istatistik, Independent simples t test, One-Way ANOVA, korelasyon analizi ve çoklu regresyon analizi yapılmıştır.
