Science curriculum is very important in providing effective science instruction. Therefore, science curricula that have been developed in our country up to now must be examined to develop new science curricula under the light of the results. For this reason, science curricula used in science teaching were examined in terms of design, implementation and evaluation process. The investigations reveal that detailed need assessment is not included in design period, adequate equipments for schools have not been provided properly, and that effective assessments have not been done after implementation. By taking into account of these deficiencies, in this study, some suggestions were made for further curriculum development efforts.
Fen bilimleri eğitiminin kalitesini artırmada öğretim programları oldukça önemlidir. Bundan dolayı geliştirilen öğretim programlarının incelenmesi ve yeni programların bu incelemelerden elde edilen veriler ışığında geliştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu gerekçeden yola çıkarak çalışmada günümüze kadar ülkemizde geliştirilen fen programları; planlama, uygulama ve değerlendirme aşamaları dikkate alınarak eleştirel bir bakışla açısıyla incelenmiştir. Yapılan incelemeler; programların planlama aşamalarında ayrıntılı ihtiyaç analizlerinin yeterince yapılmadığını, uygulama sürecinde gerekli olan koşulların tüm okullara sağlanamadığını ve uygulama sonrası etkili değerlendirmelerinin yapılamadığını göstermiştir.
