In this study, a laboratory activity based on constructivist learning approach was prepared for teaching undergraduate and graduate students autoprotolysis equilibrium constant and effect of ionic strength and temperature to this constant. The activity that consisted of demonstration, guided inquiry, concept generation and application phases was carried out with twenty-two students randomly selected from senior students in Gazi University, Faculty of Gazi Education, Department of Chemistry Education during the terms of 2001-2002. The effect of activity was qualitatively investigated with in-class observation of researchers, examination of worksheets and evaluation of lab reports. Bu çalışmada, lisans ve lisans üstü programlarındaki öğrencilere otoprotoliz denge sabiti ve bu sabite iyonik şiddetin ve sıcaklığın etkisi ile ilgili kavramları öğretmeye yardımcı olacak yapılandırıcı öğrenme teorisine dayalı bir laboratuvar aktivitesi hazırlanmıştır. Gösteri, rehberli sorgulama, kavram oluşturma ve uygulama aşamalarından oluşturulan aktivite 2001-2002 öğretim yılında G.Ü. Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Kimya Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinden rasgele seçilen 22 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Aktivitenin etkisi araştırmacıların sınıf içi gözlemleri, işlem yapraklarının incelenmesi ve laboratuvar raporlarının değerlendirilmesiyle kalitatif olarak araştırılmıştır.
