Bilimsel Haritalama Yöntemiyle Hastane Yönetimi Alanındaki Tematik Değişimin Analizi

Year 2017, Volume: 27 Issue: 2, 43 - 50, 01.06.2017

Abstract

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the thematic changes in the field of hospital management throughout the years.Materials and Methods: The search has been carried out on the articles publication indexed in the database of Web of Science WOS in the years between 1980-2016 by using the key words ‘hospital management’, ‘hospital administration’, ‘health care direction’, ‘second-degree health care management’ and 1403 articles have been obtained. The method bibliometric science mapping has been used for the analysis, and the analyses have been carried out by the software Sci MAT. In the analysis process, the publications have been divided into specific periods as such 1980-1989, 1990-1999, 2000-2009, 2010-2016, and the extraction process has been reviewed on the keywords. Then, the density graph has been acquired by using the soft ware Vosviewer. Results: The number of publication of article related to hospital management in the period stated, the number of citation and distribution of the publications according to countries have been revealed. In this concept, the themes ‘organization’ or ‘institutions’, ‘society’, ‘costs’ and ‘hospital management’ in the years between 1990-1999, the themes ‘quality improvement’, ‘diagnosis/diagnoses’, ‘health service output’, ‘technology’ and ‘stress’ in the years between 2000-2009, and the themes ‘patient safety’, ‘employee and patient satisfaction’, ‘performance’, ’quality’, ‘quality of service’, ‘output’ and ‘maintenance services’ in the years between 2010-1016 have been appeared as main themes. Conclusion: It has been revealed that research interests related to the field of hospital management have had/have an evolutionary structure, and recent studies put mostly emphasis on ‘human-centered’ topics regarding the themes of health care workers and patients. It can be thought that to consider the thematic changes would be useful for decision makers in Turkey in which substantial and radical arrangements are being made in the field of health care with in this period
