Göbeklitepe Journal of Education and Sport Sciences (GESD) (e-ISSN: 2980-3071) is the official, periodical, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific publication of Harran University. Our journal, which began its publication life in 2004, has been published as a free and open-access journal for the public; as of the first issue of 2026, it has also included the CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 license in all published articles. It is published twice a year, in June and December, in Turkish or English.

The main purpose of our journal is to contribute to the scientific literature by publishing original research that meets high scientific and ethical standards.

Göbeklitepe Journal of Education and Sport Sciences aims to support the development of Education and Sport Sciences and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge generated through scientific studies.

Within this scope, priority will be given to studies in the fields of Movement and Training Sciences, Exercise and Sports Physiology, Exercise and Sports Psychology, Adapted Physical Education and Sport, Motor Development and Learning, Recreation, Sports Nutrition, Sociology of Sport, History of Sport, Sports Management, Educational Sciences, Educational Administration, Sociology of Education, Educational Psychology, and Special Education.

Göbeklitepe Journal of Education and Sport Sciences publishes experimental, applied, and theoretical academic studies in the fields of education and sports sciences. Publications are evaluated by at least two reviewers through a double-blind peer review process in terms of original knowledge, ideas, and presentation.
