MEDIATION ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT IN THE EFFECT OF PERCEIVED ORGANIZATIONAL JUSTICE ON ORGANIZATIONAL CYNICISM: AN APPLICATION IN AN AZERBAIJANI UNİVERSITY
Öz
The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of organizational commitment in the effect of perceived organizational justice on organizational cynicism among academic staff working at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. A quantitative research design was adopted, and data were collected through a questionnaire administered to 154 faculty members. The study employed the Organizational Justice Scale developed by Niehoff and Moorman (1993), the Organizational Commitment Scale developed by Meyer and Allen (1991), and the Organizational Cynicism Scale developed by Brandes et al. (1997). The findings revealed that organizational justice positively affects organizational commitment, organizational commitment negatively affects organizational cynicism, and organizational commitment plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between organizational justice and organizational cynicism. These findings suggest that employees’ perceptions of organizational justice influence their organizational attitudes and that improving justice perceptions may help reduce cynical attitudes shaped by both individual and organizational factors.
