DOES CYNICISM AFFECT JOB PERFORMANCE? THE MEDIATING EFFECT OF JOB SATISFACTION

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between organizational cynicism, job satisfaction
and job performance and whether a mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between the
organizational cynicism and the job performance or not. The sample of the study consists of the total 105
academicians working in Bayburt and Karadeniz Technical Universities. The research results show that
organizational cynicism partially and negatively affected both job satisfaction and job performance, and job
satisfaction totally and positively affected job performance, and however job satisfaction had a full mediating
effect on the relationship between organizational cynicism and job performance.

ÖRGÜTSEL SİNİZM, İŞ PERFORMANSINI ETKİLER Mİ? İŞ TATMİNİN ARACILIK ETKİSİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı; örgütsel sinizm, iş tatmini ve iş performansı arasındaki ilişkileri ortaya koymak ve iş
tatmininin, örgütsel sinizm ve iş performansı arasındaki ilişkide bir aracılık etkisinin olup olmadığını
incelemektir. Çalışma ankete dayalı bir alan araştırmasıdır. Çalışmanın örneklemini, Bayburt ve Karadeniz
Teknik üniversitelerinde görev yapan toplam 105 akademisyen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonuçları;
örgütsel sinizmin, hem iş tatmini hem de iş performansını kısmen ve negatif yönde etkilediği; iş tatmininin
ise iş performansını tamamen ve pozitif yönde etkilediği ve bununla birlikte iş tatmininin, örgütsel sinizm ve
iş performansı arasındaki ilişkide tam aracılık etkisine sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.
