Climate change is an increasingly complex challenge that requires effective adaptation and risk management strategies. The impacts of climate change, such as rising global temperatures, sea level rise and extreme weather events, have significant consequences for ecosystems and human communities. Integration of climate change adaptation and disaster risk management is crucial to reduce these risks and achieve sustainable development goals. This paper reviews the issue of climate change adaptation, assesses the relationship between climate change adaptation and disaster risk management, and provides an assessment for resilient and sustainable development. It emphasizes that climate change adaptation is not a subset of disaster risk management, that there are similarities and differences in scope and focus, and that governance mechanisms need to be transformed to integrate climate change adaptation and disaster risk management in order to reduce disaster and climate change risks.
