Year 2025, Volume: 14 Issue: 3, 1195 - 1210, 25.09.2025

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between mental health literacy and positive mental health in nursing students. The sample of this descriptive and correlational study consisted of 440 nursing students studying at the nursing faculty of a state university in Istanbul. Data were collected with Personal Information Form, Mental Health Literacy Scale and Positive Mental Health Scale. In addition to descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, One-Way ANOVA test, pearson correlation analysis and linear regression analysis were used in data analysis. In this study, it was found that the variables female gender, extended family, dormitory and city living, income status, perception of good mental status and satisfaction with general health were related to positive mental health and the variables female gender, senior student, Anatolian high school graduate, broken family, living in Marmara region and perception of good mental status were factors related to mental health literacy. In addition, it was found that there was a weakly significant positive relationship between mental health literacy and positive mental health of nursing students, and mental health literacy predicted positive mental health. In line with these findings, it is recommended to implement practices to improve mental health literacy and positive mental health in nursing students.

Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinde Ruh Sağlığı Okuryazarlığı İle Pozitif Ruh Sağlığı Arasındaki İlişki

Year 2025, Volume: 14 Issue: 3, 1195 - 1210, 25.09.2025
