Publication Content
Habitus Journal is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published once a year in the form of special issues (March) by the BILGITOY Association. (Article submission dates: May 1st - December 30th). Article submissions outside of these dates will not be accepted. Habitus Journal includes original scientific publications. All published articles, except for editorial works, are subjected to double-blind peer review process.
Aim and Scope
Habitus Journal plans to publish in the form of special issues that examine a specific topic in each issue. The aim of the journal is to contribute to the development of social sciences in Turkey in two ways. The first is to do this by giving importance to local studies. Nowadays, macro studies and national, regional, international and finally global level studies are mostly included, while local, small, micro level studies are not given the necessary time, space and opportunity. This journal claims to provide a new opportunity in this regard. The second is to serve this purpose by including interdisciplinary and relational studies. Since sociology is an interdisciplinary field of study and research, it may be more appropriate for a sociology journal to fulfil this purpose. Habitus Journal aims to open a space for studies from all sub-disciplines of sociology. However, since the issues of the journal will be published as special issues, it will call for articles on a topic in one of these fields in each issue. Articles submitted for publication must contain original data that has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere for publication. Manuscripts deemed suitable according to Habitus submission rules and journal scope are sent to at least two expert reviewers for scientific evaluation. The Habitus Editorial Board members deliberating on suitability then consider the reviewers' comments for each submission. The final decision for all submitted manuscripts rests with the Chief Editor. The Publication Board of Imgelem Journal commits to adhering to the criteria the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
