Abstract

Türkiye’deki sanayi faaliyetlerinin mekânsal görünümü genellikle istihdam miktarı, işyeri sayıları, ihracat ve ithalat rakamları gibi birkaç temel gösterge üzerinden çözüm-lenir. Buna karşın sanayi istihdam profilleri ve söz konusu kompozisyonların zamansal farklılaşması ise neredeyse tamamen ihmal edilir. Bu nedenle çalışmada, Türkiye’deki sanayi istihdam profillerinin mekânsal örüntülerinin belirlenmesine ve ifade edilen desenlerde yaşanan yakın tarihli farklılaşmalara odaklanılır. Burada sanayi istihdam biçimlerine ilişkin veriler, iller ölçeğinde analiz edilir. Bu, istihdam profilleri gibi çoklu verileri yapısal benzerlikleri üzerinden çözümleyen ve sonuçlarını okunaklı bir şekilde sunan yenilikçi bir yaklaşımla yapılır. Bulgular, sanayi istihdam profillerinin belirgin bir alansal farklılaşmaya sahip olduğunu ve hemen her birinin özgün bir geçiş eğrisi sergilediğini yansıtır. Çalışmanın sonuçları; işletmelerin yer seçimlerinde, yatırım teş-viklerinde, kalkınma planlarında ve daha birçok konuda yerel istihdam profillerinin dikkate alınmasının zorunluluğuna işaret eder. Ayrıca sanayi faaliyetlerinin coğrafi görünümünün çok daha kapsamlı bir şekilde analiz edilebilmesi için yüksek çözünür-lüklü ve söz konusu sektörün çeşitli yönlerini yansıtan verilerin üretilmesi gerektiğine vurgu yapar.

SPATIAL PATTERN of INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYMENT PROFILES in TURKEY

Abstract

The spatial pattern of industrial activities in Türkiye is mainly analyzed through a few basic indicators such as employment statistics, workplace numbers, export and import figures. On the other hand, industrial employment profiles and the temporal differentia-tion of these compositions have been almost completely neglected. Therefore, this study focuses on identifying the spatial patterns of industrial employment profiles in Türkiye and the recent divergences in these patterns. The data on industrial employment pat-terns are analyzed at the provincial scale to this end. This is done through an innovative approach that analyzes multiple data such as employment profiles based on their struc-tural similarities and presents the results in a readable manner. The findings reflect that industrial employment profiles have a marked spatial difference and that almost every one of them exhibits a unique transition curve. The results of the study point to the necessity of taking local employment profiles into account in the location choices of enterprises, investment incentives, development plans and many other issues. The re-sults also emphasize the need to generate high-resolution data reflecting various aspects of the relevant sector to analyze the geographical pattern of industrial activities in a much more comprehensive manner.
