This article brings up the teacher‟s (who were in the center of Islamic enlightenment) duty, authority, responsibility and methods of educatıon in history of Islam and especially in Otoman Empire which contains the largest section in history of Islam. In that direction, this article gives information about regulations related to the teachers, their salaries and social benefits, institutions that decide their duty periods and make their assingments and promotions, the system of discipline, form of education, assignment and examination of teacher candidates in Otoman Empire. Furthermore, this article gives the information to readers with original sources and documents about teacher‟s (who were working in Medrese of Süleymaniye which was situated in summit classical system of medrese) methods of education, respectfulness in society, their promotions and qualification that required for teachers
