Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this case report is to evaluate the nursing care process of a patient who experienced an ischemic stroke using the concept mapping technique, and to emphasize the clinical importance of patient-centered and evidence-based nursing interventions. In addition, the study aims to discuss how concept mapping facilitates nursing diagnoses, patient education, and the planning of a multidisciplinary approach. In this study, the nursing care process of a patient diagnosed with ischemic stroke was planned using the concept mapping technique. Concept mapping was employed to visually organize the patient’s physical, psychological, and social needs, to establish relationships among related concepts, and to construct a holistic care plan. The concept mapping technique contributed to the systematic identification of nursing diagnoses, the visualization of the care plan, and the organization of evidence-based interventions in patients with ischemic stroke. This method facilitated nurses’ holistic approach to addressing patients’ physiological, psychological, and educational needs. Moreover, it strengthened coordination within the multidisciplinary team and supported the delivery of patient-centered care.
