1- HIKEM is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year, in March and September.
2- Manuscripts must not have been published elsewhere previously. If a manuscript is derived from a thesis or a symposium paper, this must be indicated in a footnote on the first page.
3- Articles must be submitted through the DergiPark system.
4- The manuscript must be prepared in accordance with the Word Template provided below.
5- In cases requiring the use of different typefaces (e.g., transcription), the necessary font file(s) must be submitted together with the manuscript.
6- Articles may be published in Turkish, English, and Arabic.
7- For citations and references, the ISNAD Citation System (2nd Edition) and the Zotero citation manager must be used.
8- Our journal employs a double-blind peer-review system. Reviewer names are not published.
9- Submitted manuscripts are first checked for relevance to the scope of the journal. They are then evaluated in terms of formatting, footnotes, and bibliography to complete the “Preliminary Review.”
10- Authors must not include any identifying information in the manuscript text (such as name, surname, or institutional affiliation). All personal details about the authors should be entered in the relevant fields of the Author Information Form. (The Author Information Form must be uploaded as an additional file.)
11- Before submitting to our journal, you must obtain a similarity report from intihal.net and upload it to the system. During the submission process, the system will guide you to obtain this report.
12- Manuscripts that pass the preliminary review are sent to two reviewers for evaluation.
If both reviewers accept, the publication process begins.
If both reviewers reject, the manuscript is rejected.
If one reviewer rejects and the other requests a major revision, the manuscript is rejected.
If both reviewers request a major revision, after revisions the manuscript is sent back to the same reviewers.
If one reviewer rejects and the other accepts or requests a minor revision, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer.
If one reviewer requests a minor revision and the other requests a major revision, after revisions the manuscript is sent back to the reviewer who requested the major revision. If that reviewer accepts, the manuscript is taken into publication; if that reviewer rejects, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer. Based on the third reviewer’s decision, the manuscript is either accepted for publication or rejected.
