Copyright & Author Rights

The Hittite Journal of Science and Engineering does not require authors to transfer their copyright starting from the second issue of 2023. Authors (or their employers) retain the copyright to their articles. The only requirement is that authors agree to publish under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license. All articles published by the Hittite Journal of Science and Engineering (regardless of funding source) are published as open access and are allowed to be reused in accordance with the terms of the CC BY-NC open access license.

You can download the copyright agreement from here.

When authors upload their work to our online system, they read and sign the copyright agreement with a blue pen and upload it as a PDF to the journal system. Under this agreement, authors:

  • Confirm that the submitted article is their original work and does not infringe on any plagiarism.
  • Confirm that all authors have individually contributed to this work and take full responsibility for it.
  • Confirm that all authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the submitted article.
  • Confirm that the article has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • Acknowledge and undertake that the text, figures, and documents in the article do not violate the copyright of others.
  • Grant permission to the Hittite Journal of Science and Engineering to publish the article and identify themselves as the original publisher.
  • Grant any third party the right to use the article freely, as long as the original authors and citation details are identified.
  • Nothing in this license infringes or restricts the right of an author to protect the integrity and ownership of their work.
