GERİATRİK TRAVMA OLGULARINA HASTANE ÖNCESİ YAKLAŞIMIN GÖZDEN GEÇİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Yirminci yüzyılın
ortalarından itibaren yaşlı nüfus sayısal olarak artmaya başlamış ve bu artış
21. yüzyılda daha da hızlanmıştır. Yaşlılıktaki fizyolojik değişiklikler ve
bunlara ilave olan hastalıklar onları travmalara açık hale getirmektedir.
Travma sonrası hastayı ilk görenler paramedikler olup ciddi sorumluluk
yüklenmektedirler. Bu derlemede onlara yardımcı olmak, oldukça karmaşık durumda
karşılarına çıkan bu hasta grubunda olası hataları en aza indirmek için
yaklaşımlar literatür bilgileri ışığı altında tekrar gözden geçirilmiştir.
Yaşlanma fizyolojisi, beraberindeki hastalıklar ve kullandıkları ilaçların yan
etkileri ele alınmış, bunların ilk muayene bulgularını nasıl etkiledikleri
irdelenmiştir. Ayrıca travma mekanizmaları tanımlanmış, hastanın stabilizasyonu
ve transportu esnasında yapılması gerekenler gözden geçirilmiştir. Bu yaş
grubundaki travma olgularına yaklaşırken dikkat edilmesi gereken noktalar son
bölümde özet olarak bildirilmiştir.
