In this study, it was aimed to examine the difference between parents' family life and child-rearing attitudes and adolescents' internet addiction. The research was carried out using the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. A total of 202 people, including 101 parents and 101 adolescents aged 12-18, participated in the study. The mean age of the parents participating in the study was 41.84±4.29 (min=32, max=54), and the mean age of the adolescents was 14.11±1.8 (min=12, max=17). Parents answered the Sociodemographic Characteristics and Family Life and Child Raising Attitude Scale in the data collection form, and adolescents answered the Internet Addiction Scale. Student-t, Mann Whitney U, One-Way Anova, Kruskal Wallis, Chi-square and Pearson correlation tests were used to analyze the data. 86.1% of the parents stated that they had job security, 89.1% of them did not participate in the care of the child, and 55.4% of them partly spared time for their children. It was observed that the levels of overprotection of the parents were low, while the levels of democratic attitudes and equality approaches, rejection of the role of housewife, intra-familial conflict and strict discipline were high. While internet addiction was not detected in adolescents, nearly half of them were in the group with risky internet use. No difference was found between parents' family life and child-rearing attitudes and adolescents' internet addiction. However, the fact that the majority of adolescents are in the group with risky internet use reveals that each adolescent is at risk for internet addiction. For this reason, it is recommended to carry out studies that will encourage adolescents to use the internet correctly and safely.
