The aim of this study was to investigate the misconceptions and learning difficulties of elementary students on light, vision and mirrors, which are the fundamental subjects of optics. The participants of the study were 304 students from the third, fifth and seventh grades of the 2000-2002 school year. The data were collected through open-ended & true-false questions. The results are parallel to the results of international studies that investigated the same age groups.
