Abstract

Son yıllarda özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerde hem sağlık kuruluşlarının sayıca artması hem de bu kuruluşların nitelik olarak gelişmesi, bireylerin sağlık kuruluşları arasında seçim yapma olanağını artırmıştır. Bu artışla ile birlikte bireyler arasında sağlık kuruluşları tercihlerinin nasıl farklılaştığının da analiz edilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de bireylerin sağlık kuruluşları tercihlerini ve söz konusu tercihlerini etkileyen faktörleri incelemektir. Bu kapsamda, 2016 Türkiye Sağlık Araştırması veri seti kullanılarak Türkiye’de 15 yaş ve üstü bireylerin sağlık kuruluşları tercihleri multinomial lojistik regresyon yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizin sonucunda, bireylerin hastane tercihlerinin yaş, cinsiyet, medeni hal, gelir, eğitim, hastalık durumu gibi faktörlere bağlı olarak değiştiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca sağlık kuruluşlarını sosyal güvence, ucuzluk, yakınlık, beğeni ve tavsiyeden dolayı tercih etme olasılıklarının gelir, eğitim ve yaş gibi çeşitli parametreler özelinde farklılaştığı tespit edilmiştir.

ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING THE HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS CHOICES OF INDIVIDUALS IN TURKEY

Abstract

In recent years, especially in developing countries, the opportunity of individuals to choose among health institutions has increased with both the increase in the number of health institutions and the development of these institutions in terms of quality. In parallel with this increase, it is also necessary to analyze how the health institutions choices differ among individuals. This study seeks to examine the healthcare institution choices of the individuals in Turkey and to determine the factors affecting these choices. Within this purpose, healthcare institution choices of individuals who are 15 and above are analyzed with the multinomial logit model using Turkish Health Survey 2016. Results of the analysis indicate that, health care institution choices have a significant relation with individual characteristics such as age, gender, marital status, income, and health situation. In addition, it has been determined that the probability of health institutions choices due to social security, proximity, appreciation, and recommendation differs parameters such as income, education and age.
