Antibiyotik tedavisine yanıt veren karaciğer apseli bir olgu

Abstract

Piyojenik karaciğer apsesi nadir görülen mortalitesi yüksek bir hastalıktır ve tedavisi uygun antibiyotik kullanımı ve apse drenajıdır. Kırk altı yaşında erkek hasta sekiz gündür devam eden yüksek ateş şikâyetiyle polikliniğimize başvurdu. Batında palpasyonla sağ tarafta hassasiyet mevcuttu. Ultrasonografi ve abdominal tomografide karaciğerde düzgün sınırlı multipl sayıda soliter lezyonlar saptandı. Uzun süreli antibiyotik tedavisi sonunda klinik durumu düzeldi ve kontrol tomografisinde karaciğerdeki lezyonlar tamamen kayboldu. Klasik bilgiler karaciğer abselerinde cerrahi girişim veya perkütan drenajını önermelerine rağmen bizim olgumuz tek başına antibiyotik tedavisiyle düzelmiştir

A case of liver abscess with respond to antibiotic therapy

Abstract

Pyogenic liver abscess is a rare disease with a high mortality rate, and the treatment depends on appropriate antibiotic usage and drainage. A forty-six year old male patient was admitted to our clinic with high fever for eight days. Abdominal palpation revealed tenderness on the right upper quadrant. Multiple solitary lesions with smooth margins in the liver were determined at abdominal ultrasonography and computed tomography scan. Clinical condition improved and liver lesions were regressed in control tomography scan at the end of a long-term antibiotic treatment. Although the traditional knowledge suggested that surgical operation or percutaneous drainage should be performed for liver abscess, our case was successfully treated with antibiotics
