Year 2019, Volume: 16 Issue: 2, 380 - 384, 29.08.2019

Abstract

Background:
The aim of this study was to evaluate the gender and age distributions of
patients admitted to our clinic with complaints in Temporomandibular joint
(TMJ) region from Sanlıurfa and its around cities.

Methods: The patients who
referred to the Department of Oral  and
Maxillofacial Surgery of Harran University Faculty of Dentistry between January
2017 – January 2019 were included in this study. 223 women (74.08 %), 78 men
(25.92 %) patients’ information charts  were
recorded  as age, gender and kind of TME
disease.

Results: According to the
results obtained, the majority of the patients admitted to our clinic with TME
complaint were in the  30 years and under
age group and women. When the distribution of the patients according to the
primary diagnoses is considered, the most common disease is Bruxism and the
female male age ratio is found to be significantly different in favor of female
predominance only in Bruxism and Osteoarthritis patients and also female predomance
can be seen in all TMJ disease groups.

Conclusion:
In Şanlıurfa and surrounding cities, the majority of TME patients are
individuals who were under 30 years of age and women. Bruksizm is the most
common TME region disease. There is no difference in the distribution of age
groups among Bruxizm, Disc Displacement With Reduction, Disc Displacement
Without Reduction and Osteoarthritis disease groups.

Year 2019, Volume: 16 Issue: 2, 380 - 384, 29.08.2019

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Şanlıurfa ve çevresinden
Temporomandibular Eklem (TME) bölgesinde şikâyet ile kliniğimize başvuran
hastaların TME tanısı açısından cinsiyet ve yaş dağılımlarını
değerlendirmektir.

Materyal ve
Metot:
Çalışmamıza Ocak 2017 – Ocak 2019
tarihleri arasında Harran Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Ağız, Diş ve
Çene Hastalıkları Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalına TME bölgesi şikâyeti ile başvuran
ve klinik-radyolojik muayene akabinde primer tanısı konulan hastalar dahil
edildi.

yoktur.
