Şehir Kimliği Üzerinde İlçe Memnuniyeti, İlçeye Bağlanma ve Şehre Bağlanmanın Seri Çoklu Aracılık Etkisi Modeli: İstanbul Örneği

Abstract

Yerleşim yerine yönelik memnuniyetin mekâna bağlanmayı artırdığı, mekâna bağlanmanın da mekân kimliği üzerinde olumlu etkiye sahip olduğu ayrı ayrı pek çok araştırmada incelenmiş; ancak memnuniyet, bağlanma ve kimlik arasındaki ilişkilerin bir arada incelendiği sınırlı sayıda çalışma olduğu görülmüştür. Bu çalışmada, İstanbul özelinde ilçeye yönelik memnuniyet ve şehir kimliği arasındaki ilişkide ilçeye bağlanma ve şehre bağlanmanın seri çoklu aracılık etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırma, İstanbul’un farklı ilçelerinde yaşayan, yaşları 17 ile 64 arasında değişen 228 katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama araçları arasında İlçe Memnuniyeti Ölçeği, Mekâna Bağlanma Ölçeği, Mekân Kimliği Ölçeği ve Sosyo-demografik bilgi formu yer almaktadır. Araştırmanın sonuçları ilçe memnuniyeti ve şehir kimliği arasındaki ilişkide (1) ilçeye bağlanma ve (2) ilçeye bağlanma ve şehre bağlanmanın seri çoklu aracı etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Bulgular özellikle İstanbul gibi bir metropolde şehirle kurulan ilişkide sınırları daha belirgin olan ilçe düzeyindeki mekânın önemli olduğunu gösterir niteliktedir. Araştırma sonuçlarının hem Çevre Psikolojisi alanyazınına hem de ilçe ve şehir düzeyinde yerel yönetimlerin hizmet politikalarına katkı sağlanması beklenmektedir.

The Serial Multiple Mediation Model of District Satisfaction, District Attachment and City Attachment on City Identity: Istanbul

Abstract

It has been examined in many research that residential satisfaction increases place attachment, and also place attachment has a positive effect on the place identity; however, a limited number of studies have been found that examined the relationships between satisfaction, attachment, and identity together. In this study, the serial multiple mediation effect of the district attachment and the city attachment on the relationship between satisfaction with the district and city identity in Istanbul was examined. The research was carried out with 228 participants, aged between 17 and 64 living in different districts of Istanbul. Data collection tools include District Satisfaction Scale, Place Attachment Scale, Place Identity Scale and as well as socio-demographic information form. Research findings showed that (1) district attachment and (2) district attachment and city attachment together have a serial multiple mediation effect on the relationship between district satisfaction and city identity. The results showed that the district is important in the relationship established with the city.
