Disabled individuals face many problems in terms of transportation to public, social spaces and residences. In order to increase the participation of disabled people in activities, various environmental home arrangements are recommended. Since the needs of individuals with physical/orthopedic disabilities, low vision/visual impairments or hearing impairments/losses and the strengths that can be used for compensation will vary, different home arrangements are recommended according to the disability group. Studies have generally focused on a single disability group, and studies covering all disability groups are rarely encountered. The aim of this review is to systematically classify house arrangements that can be used in different disability groups and bring them to the literature. Home arrangements include house entrance, doors, kitchen, bathroom and room arrangements for individuals with physical/orthopedic disabilities. For people with low vision/visual impairment, regulations for hearing and tactile senses, use of contrast color and vibration-based systems are recommended. For individuals with hearing impairment/loss, vision and vibration-based systems provide convenience to the individual at the level of both safety and activity participation. Smart homes, on the other hand, emerge as an option that appeals to users in all disability groups with the developing technology. Despite the difficulties and cost of use, smart homes can provide advantages for people with different disabilities in terms of increasing security, facilitating emergency management, providing domestic mobility and ease of use, and increasing participation in life.
