İHYA: International Journal of Islamic Studies is an open-access, international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published biannually in January and July. The journal does not charge any submission, review, or article processing fees (APCs) and adopts a fully free publishing policy based on the principle of the unrestricted dissemination of scientific knowledge.
İHYA aims to contribute to both the national and international academic literature by publishing original, high-quality, and methodologically rigorous research in the field of Islamic theology and related social sciences. The journal seeks to bridge the classical Islamic scholarly tradition with contemporary academic research and welcomes studies that promote interdisciplinary approaches, encourage critical inquiry, and demonstrate academic originality. Although the primary language of publication is Turkish, original scholarly works written in Arabic, English, and German are also accepted for publication.
All manuscripts submitted to İHYA undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process. Throughout the publication process, the journal upholds the principles of academic integrity, impartiality, transparency, and publication ethics. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software, and manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of scientific originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and their contribution to the existing literature.
İHYA adheres to internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing and follows the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All articles published in the journal are made openly available under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
The scope of İHYA encompasses scholarly studies that examine the Islamic intellectual tradition from textual, historical, philosophical, and social perspectives within the broader field of Islamic studies. The journal welcomes original research that critically engages both the classical Islamic scholarly heritage and contemporary academic approaches. In this regard, İHYA aims to publish high-quality research that strengthens interdisciplinary scholarly dialogue, promotes critical thinking, and contributes to the advancement of international academic scholarship.
