Dış Ticarette Uluslararası Mal ve Piyasa Çeşitlendirmesi: Seçilmiş Ülkeler İçin Kümeleme Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı 121 ülkenin dış ticaret kümelerinin dinamik bir
haritasını ve tanımlanan kümelerin kilit belirleyicilerini ortaya çıkartmaktır.
Çalışmada dış ticaret konusunda mal ve piyasa çeşitlendirmesi performansını
belirlemek için bir dizi önemli ticaret değişkenine dayanan kümelenmeler
oluşturmak için kümeleme analizi yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Diğer taraftan
çalışmada, ticaret kümelerinin zamansal evrimi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu
amaçla ülkeler, kümeleme analiz tekniklerini kullanarak tanımlanmış,
sınıflanmış ve böylece, benzer ticaret modellerine, ekonomik performansa,
ticaret yoğunluğuna ve çeşitlendirme seviyesine sahip ülkelerin haritası
çıkartılmıştır. Analizi dinamik hale getirmek için, kümeleme analizleri zaman
içinde birden fazla noktada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri seti 1990'lar ve
2000'ler ve 2015 ve sonrası için üç dönem olarak ele alınmıştır. Böylece elde
edilen kümelenmelerin istikrarlı olup olmadığını izleyebilme ve aynı zamanda
ticaret modelindeki değişimin ekonomiler arasında yeni kümelenmelerin oluşumuna
yol açıp açmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca gelişmişlik düzeyine göre elde edilen
kümelerin farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı; kişi başına GSMH değişkenine göre
değerlendirilmiştir. Ticaret kümelerini belirleyebilmek için İhracat Piyasalarına
Giriş Endeksi, Hirschman Herfindahl Piyasa Yoğunlaşma Endeksi, İhracat Ortağı
Sayısı, İthalat Ortağı Sayısı, İhraç Edilen Ürün Sayısı, İthal Edilen Ürün
Sayısı, Kişi Başına GSMH (2010 Sabit Fiyatlarla US$) gibi değişkenler ekonomik
performans, ticaret yapısı ve ticaret politikası benzerliğini ortaya koyabilmek
için kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak (i)
ülkelerin dış ticaretinin mal ve piyasa çeşitlendirmeleri açısından anlamlı bir
şekilde farklı gruplara ayrılabileceği görülmektedir. (ii) Ülkeler gösterdikleri ticaret performansına göre zamanla küme
değiştirebilmektedir. (iii) En
gelişmiş küme olan 5. kümeye 2010 yılında Almanya ve Çin de dahil olarak ABD
ile en iyi mal ve piyasa çeşitlendirmesine sahip ülkeler kümesini
oluşturmaktadır. (iv) Küme
üyeliklerinin yıllar itibariyle istikrarlı olduğu ve bir ülkenin yıllar
itibariyle olağan dışı sıçramalar yaşamaması (bir üst ya da bir alt küme
geçişlerin olması) başarılı kümeleme analizinin göstergesi olarak
görülmektedir. (v) Kümeleme analizi
sonucunda ortaya çıkan kümelerin kişi başına GSMH göstergesine göre
karşılaştırmaları yapıldığında; daha iyi mal ve piyasa çeşitlendirmesine sahip
ülkelerin aynı zamanda, daha yüksek kişi başına GSMH’ya sahip olduğu
gözlenmiştir.
