Zengezur Koridoru’nun Türkiye’nin Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı ile Ticaretine Olası Etkilerinin Analizi: Çekim Modeli Yaklaşımı

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Zengezur Koridoru’nun açılması senaryosu altında Türkiye ile Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı ülkeleri arasındaki ticaret akımlarında meydana gelebilecek değişimleri incelemektedir. 2000–2023 dönemine ait yıllık veriler kullanılarak Türkiye ile Azerbaycan, Kazakistan, Kırgızistan, Özbekistan ve Türkmenistan arasındaki ikili ticaret panel çekim modeli kapsamında analiz edilmiştir. Modelde tarafların gayrisafi yurt içi hasılaları, mesafe, gelir farklılıkları ve transit ülke sayısı değişkenleri dikkate alınmıştır. Bulgular, ekonomik büyüklüklerin ticaret üzerinde pozitif, mesafenin ise negatif etkisinin olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca transit ülke sayısının artması ticareti sınırlandırıcı bir etki yaratırken, gelir farklılığı değişkeni anlamlı bulunmamıştır. Çalışma, Zengezur Koridoru’nun sağlayacağı yaklaşık %25’lik mesafe kısalmasının, Türkiye ile Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı ülkeleri arasındaki ticaret hacminde yaklaşık %20,3 oranında artışa yol açabileceğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu sonuç, koridorun bölgesel ticarette yapısal bir dönüşüm potansiyeli taşıdığını ve lojistik entegrasyon açısından stratejik önem arz ettiğini göstermektedir.

Analyzing the Potential Effects of the Zangezur Corridor on Türkiye’s Trade with the Organization of Turkic States: A Gravity Model Approach

Abstract

This study examines the potential changes in trade flows between Türkiye and the member states of the Organization of Turkic States under the scenario of the opening of the Zangezur Corridor. Using annual data for the period 2000–2023, bilateral trade between Türkiye and five member states (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan) is analyzed within a panel gravity model framework. The model incorporates variables such as the gross domestic product of the parties, geographical distance, income differentials, and the number of transit countries. The findings indicate that economic size positively affects trade, while distance has a negative impact. Moreover, an increase in the number of transit countries restricts trade, whereas the income differential variable is found to be statistically insignificant. The study suggests that the approximately 25% reduction in distance provided by the Zangezur Corridor could lead to an estimated 20.3% increase in Türkiye's trade volume with the Organization of Turkic States. These results highlight the corridor's potential to induce a structural transformation in regional trade and underscore its strategic importance for logistic integration.
