The purpose of the peer-review process is to ensure that quality and original scientific studies are published. All articles published in the International Journal of Energy Studies are peer-reviewed, and all submitted articles follow the procedure outlined below.
Preliminary Evaluation of Articles
All manuscripts sent to the journal for publication are primarily evaluated by the Editor and Editorial Board in terms of whether the submitted article meets the purpose and scope of the journal or meets the requirements of a scientific study. Manuscripts may be rejected at this stage if they are not suitable, or some revisions may be requested. Then, the articles submitted to the journal are checked with the Ithenticate or Turnitin program and the originality reports are examined. If the manuscripts are not suitable, they may be rejected at this stage or some corrections may be requested.
Evaluation Policy
After the initial evaluation, the manuscripts are sent to at least two reviewers determined by the editor and/or the editorial board. If necessary, the number of reviewers can be increased by the editor or the Editorial Board. Reviewers are selected from the arbitration committee according to their expertise. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the originality of the article, its methodology, its contribution to the literature, the presentation and support of the results, and appropriate citation to previous relevant studies. Reviewers may accept, reject, or request revisions in terms of style and/or content. Two positive reports are required for the articles to be published. When a revision is requested by the referee or referees, the author(s) should consider the criticism and suggestions submitted by the referees and send back the revised version of the article within 30 days. If the revised article is not submitted within a month, the article will be rejected directly. Reviewers may request more than one revision of a manuscript. After the review process, the final decision is made by the Editorial Board.
