Abstract
In this study, the concept of “false friends/bilingual homophones”, which is one of the important problems frequently mentioned
in the field of translation studies, is discussed in the context of Turkish-Russian. The relationship between the Russian-Turkish
peoples is very old and it is known that both nation lived very closely both geographically and culturally for many years. This
proximity of course also affected the language and paved the way for various word exchanges between both languages. However,
this study deals with “false friends/bilingual homophones” structures, not borrowing and lending words.
As a result of the Turkish-Russian and Russian-Turkish dictionaries searches, the spelling and pronunciations such as “bardak,
durak, saray” which are found to be in common use in Turkish and Russian are the same; however, 79 structures whose meanings
are completely different in the source and target languages and that support the “false friends/bilingual homophones” approaches
of linguistics and translation science constitute the subject of this study.

Abstract
Bu çalışmada, çeviri bilim alanında da sık sık dile getirilen önemli sorunlardan biri olan “yalancı eş değerlik/iki dilli sesteş yapılar” kavramı Türkçe-Rusça bağlamında ele alınmıştır. Rus-Türk halklarının uzun yıllar gerek coğrafi gerek kültürel anlamda oldukça yakın yaşadığı bilinmektedir. Söz konusu yakınlık elbette dile de etki etmiş ve bu iki dil arasında çeşitli kelime alışverişine de zemin hazırlamıştır. Yalnız bu çalışmada alıntı ve verinti kelimeler değil, yalancı eş değer yapılar ele alınmıştır. Yapılan Türkçe-Rusça ve Rusça-Türkçe sözlük taramaları sonucunda Türkçe ve Rusçada ortak kullanımda olduğu tespit edilen “bardak, durak, saray” gibi yazılışları ve telaffuzları aynı ama anlamları kaynak ve hedef dillerde tamamen farklı olan, dilbilim ve çeviribilimin “yalancı eş değerlik/iki dilli sesteş yapılar” yaklaşımlarını da destekleyen 79 yapı bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır.
