The International Journal of Language and Technology is an international, peer-reviewed, and interdisciplinary academic journal that aims to contribute to national and international literature by publishing original, scientific, and ethically sound studies produced at the intersection of language and technology.
The primary purpose of the journal is to provide a scholarly publication platform for theoretical and applied research in areas such as language acquisition, language teaching, linguistic analysis, educational technologies, digital pedagogy, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, large language models, and computer- and mobile-assisted language learning.
The International Journal of Language and Technology supports studies that examine the digital transformation of language and the effects of technological developments on language learning, teaching, and assessment processes from an academic perspective.
The journal aims to strengthen knowledge sharing among language educators, linguists, educational technology specialists, translation studies researchers, and academics working in related disciplines; to increase the visibility of qualified research; and to contribute to current debates in the field of language and technology.
The International Journal of Language and Technology publishes original research articles, review articles, theoretical studies, comparative research, legislative and policy evaluations, essays, and qualified translation studies in fields related to language and technology. The journal accepts academic studies written in Turkish and English and is published under a continuous publication model.
The journal’s primary areas of publication include artificial intelligence, large language models, natural language processing, computational linguistics, automated assessment systems, digital pedagogy, computer-assisted language learning, mobile-assisted language learning, gamification, hybrid education models, and the use of web tools in language teaching.
The International Journal of Language and Technology also welcomes studies on the effects of virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, and similar immersive technologies on language learning experiences. In this context, simulation-based learning environments, students’ motivation and anxiety levels, the development of language competencies, and digital learning practices structured within the framework of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages are among the journal’s research areas.
In addition to technology-oriented studies, the journal is also open to research in general linguistics and philology. Studies in phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, historical linguistics, comparative language studies, and the analysis of literary texts as linguistic data are considered within the scope of the journal.
Studies that address the relationship between literature, culture, translation research, and language education are also included in the journal’s publication scope. The use of literary texts in language classrooms, the development of intercultural communication skills, translation studies, and the use of cultural content in language teaching are among the topics that may be evaluated by the journal.
The journal accepts studies based on qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research designs, comprehensive literature reviews, and academic works with an interdisciplinary approach.
