THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JOB INSECURITY AND WORKPLACE PROCRASTINATION

Abstract

The aim of this study is to research the relationship between job insecurity and workplace procrastination. Job insecurity was examined with importance of total job changes and probability or likelihood of change to total job. Workplace procrastination was investigated with behavioral procrastination and decisional procrastination aspects. It was used the survey as data acquisition tool and the questionnaires were administered to employees of the service industry. The research results showed that there is a positive significant relationship between job insecurity and workplace procrastination and there are positive effects of dimensions of job insecurity on behavioral procrastination and decisional procrastination

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı, iş güvencesizliği ile işyeri prokrastinasyonu arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. İş güvencesizliği, iş değişikliğinin önemi ve iş değişikliği olasılığı boyutlarıyla incelenmiş; işyeri prokrastinasyonu, kararsal prokrastinasyon ve davranışsal prokrastinasyon ölçütleriyle irdelenmiştir. Veri edinme yöntemi olarak anket kullanılmış olup, anketler hizmet sektörü çalışanlarına uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları, iş güvencesizliği ile işyeri prokrastinasyonu arasında anlamlı ve pozitif bir ilişkinin olduğunu ve iş güvencesizliği boyutlarının davranışsal ve kararsal prokrastinasyon üzerinde pozitif etkilerinin saptandığını göstermiştir.
