PUBLICATION POLICY
Publication Language
Turkish, English
Publication Frequency
International Journal of Philology (IJOF) is published "online" twice a year (June and December). A Special Issue may also be published if deemed appropriate by the Editorial Board.
Open Access Policy
Diamond Open Access
The journal adopts the principles of Open Access as defined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and the Diamond Open Access model in order to support the unrestricted, free, and sustainable global dissemination of knowledge. In this context,
No Author Fees (No APC): No fees are charged to authors at any stage of the submission, peer review, acceptance, editorial processing, or publication process (including article processing charges, submission fees, or any similar charges).
No Access Fees: All published content is made immediately, freely, and permanently accessible in full text without any subscription, registration, or payment requirement.
Licensing and Copyright
All articles published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). Under this license,
Sharing: Readers may read, download, copy, reproduce, distribute, search, link to, and reuse the full text of articles for non-commercial purposes without prior permission from the publisher or the author, provided that appropriate attribution is given. They may also perform text and data mining on the content.
Copyright: Authors retain the copyright of their work and do not transfer exclusive rights; they grant only the right of first publication to the journal. Authors are free to share and reuse their work in accordance with the terms of the license
Wage (Fee) Policy
No fees are requested for manuscripts submitted to or published in the journal. No access fees are charged to the reader, and no publication fees (NO APC) are charged to the author.
Advertising and Marketing Policy
The journal does not accept commercial advertisements and does not engage in direct marketing.
Journal Plagiarism Policy
A similarity report must be uploaded to the system along with the submitted work. The iThenticate program is preferred for plagiarism detection. This system ensures that the articles have not been published elsewhere and do not contain plagiarism. Manuscripts scanned via iThenticate with a similarity rate exceeding 20% will be rejected. In cases where the plagiarism report is high due to special circumstances (e.g., derived from a thesis), the editorial board must be notified; the article should only be uploaded if the editor grants approval.
General Policies
1. The journal publishes research articles, review articles, and book reviews/evaluations.
2. Submitted articles should be between 5,000 and 12,000 words and should not exceed 40 pages. In cases where these limits must be bypassed, the editorial board's approval is required.
3. In-text citations and the bibliography must comply with the journal's writing guidelines.
4. For book reviews/evaluations, the author must at least be a doctoral (PhD) student. These reviews must be written in accordance with the "Points to Consider in Publication Promotion and Evaluation Texts" found under the Writing Rules tab on the journal's homepage.
5. Since submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process, the author's name and identifying information must not be included in the uploaded files. Header/footer information and page numbers should not be added. Additionally, file metadata must be cleared in Word (File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document > Document Inspector > Inspect > Remove All).
6. Author changes are only processed before the article is accepted. Authors should carefully review the author list and order before submission.
7. For multi-authored articles, declarations of conflict of interest and author contribution rates must be submitted. If the work was supported by an institution or organization, this must be disclosed during the submission stage.
8. Multiple works by the same author will not be evaluated in the same issue. Furthermore, an author's article cannot be published in two consecutive issues.
9. Quotas may be applied to faculty members from the same university or authors from the same institution based on the volume of submissions.
10. Quotas are also applied to articles derived from postgraduate theses and book reviews, considering the total number of articles in that issue.
11. The evaluation and publication of a manuscript depend primarily on the editors' decision regarding its suitability. Editors may directly reject a manuscript that they deem inappropriate or insufficient in terms of form or content without sending it for peer review. A positive peer-review report does not guarantee publication. The editor, editorial board, or field editor may still reject a manuscript if it is found lacking in form or content.
12. Works previously presented at national or international congresses or symposia where the abstract was published must be submitted with these details specified.
13. Editorial Board members are subject to the same publication process as all other authors and cannot participate in the peer-review process of their own submissions.
14. Authors may only withdraw their articles during the preliminary control (pre-check) stage.
15. The journal does not publish correction (erratum) articles. Therefore, authors must check their articles meticulously after publication and communicate any minor correction requests to the editor within three (3) days of publication.
