Beyin Tümörü Nedeniyle Kraniyal Ameliyat Geçiren Hastalarda Cerrahi Korku, Sosyal Destek Algısı Ve Konfor Arasındaki İlişki: Kesitsel Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Amaç: Çalışma beyin tümörü nedeniyle kraniyal ameliyat geçiren hastalarda cerrahi korku, sosyal destek ve konfor düzeyi arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışma bir Üniversite Hastanesinin beyin cerrahi ünitesinde Temmuz 2021 ve Ocak 2023 tarihleri arasında yürütüldü. Örneklemini 58 hastanın oluşturduğu çalışmada, yüz yüze veri toplama yöntemi kullanıldı. Çalışmanın verileri; Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Cerrahi Korku Ölçeği, Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği ve Perianestezi Konfor Ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Yordayıcılar arasındaki ilişkinin yönü Pearson korelasyon analizi ile ilişkinin kapsamı ise adımsal çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi ile değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Yaş ortalamaları 52,82±13,03 ve çoğunluğu erkek (%52) olan hastaların kısa ve uzun dönem cerrahi korkularının sırasıyla 12,08±10,01 ve 15,10±13,43 olduğu belirlendi. Hastaların Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği-aile ile konfor düzeyleri arasında pozitif yönlü orta düzey ilişki olduğu saptandı (r:0,366; p<0,05). Hastalara uygulanan Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği-aile desteği ile birlikte, erkek cinsiyet, ameliyat sonrası Perianestezi Konfor Ölçeği’nin yordayıcıları olarak değerlendirildi. Sonuç: Beyin tümör cerrahisinde aile desteği ve konfor pozitif yönde ilişkili kavramlar olarak belirlendi. Ayrıca hasta konforu üzerinde erkek cinsiyet, negatif yordayıcılar arasındaydı. Relationship Between Surgical Fear, Perception of Social Support, and Comfort in Patients Undergoing Cranial Surgery for Brain Tumor: A Cross-Sectional Study

Abstract

Objective: The study was conducted to determine the relationship between surgical fear, social support, and comfort levels in patients undergoing cranial surgery for brain tumors. Material and Methods: This study was conducted in the neurosurgery unit of a university hospital between July 2021 and January 2023. A total of 58 patients participated in the study, which employed a face-to-face data collection method. Data were collected using the Introductory Information Form, the Surgical Fear Scale, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and the Perianesthesia Comfort Scale. The relationships between the predictors were assessed using Pearson correlation analysis, while the strength of these relationships was evaluated through stepwise multiple linear regression analysis. Results: The mean age of the patients was 52.82±13.03 years, with the majority being male (52%). The short-term and long-term surgical fears were measured at 12.08±10.01 and 15.10±13.43, respectively. A moderate positive correlation was found between the patients' scores on the Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale and their comfort levels with family (r:0.366; p<0.05). The Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale-family support and male gender were evaluated as predictors of the postoperative Perianesthesia Comfort Scale. Conclusion: Family support and comfort were identified as positively correlated factors in brain tumor surgery. Additionally, male gender was found to be a negative predictor of patient comfort.
