Abstract

Bu çalışma Niklas Luhmann’ın sistem kuramına dayanan toplum anlayışına giriş niteliğinde bir değerlendirme sunmaktadır. Luhmann, toplumu bireylerin toplamı olarak değil, iletişim yoluyla kendini yeniden üreten bir sistem olarak kavramsallaştırır. Bu bakış açısı, birey ile toplum arasındaki ilişkileri yeniden düşünmeyi gerektirir: birey, sistemin bir öğesi değil; toplumsal iletişimin çevresel koşulu olarak konumlandırılır. Çalışma, bu temel çerçevede toplumun sınırlarının nasıl oluştuğunu, işleyişinin hangi dinamiklere dayandığını ve bireylere sistemsel bağlamda nasıl bir yer tanındığını Luhman’ın analizleri bağlamında açık bir dille ortaya koymaktadır. Metin, Luhmann’ın yaklaşımını, kuramsal arka planı ve düşünsel yönelimleriyle birlikte anlaşılır ve bütünlüklü biçimde sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu yönüyle çalışma, sistem teorisinin temel varsayımlarını kavramsal netlik içinde tanıtmak ve Luhmann’ın modern toplum kuramına sunduğu özgün katkıyı görünür kılmak istemektedir.

The Theory of Social Systems: Niklas Luhmann

Abstract

This study presents an introductory evaluation of Niklas Luhmann’s conception of society based on systems theory. Luhmann does not conceptualize society as the sum of individuals, but rather as a system that reproduces itself through communication. This perspective requires a rethinking of the relationship between the individual and society: the individual is not an element of the system, but is positioned as an environmental condition for social communication. Within this framework, the study examines how society establishes its boundaries, the dynamics that underlie its operation, and how individuals are positioned within the systemic context. The text aims to present Luhmann’s approach in a coherent and comprehensible manner, along with its theoretical background and intellectual orientation. In this respect, the study seeks to introduce the basic assumptions of systems theory with conceptual clarity and to make Luhmann’s original contribution to modern social theory visible.
