Examination of Life Satisfaction with Ego and Duty Tendency in Sports by Variables for Students of School of Physical Education and Sports

Abstract

The aim of study is searching the relationships between ego-oriented goals and life satisfaction level of the students in Kocaeli UniversitySchool of Physical Education and Sports and their age, sexuality, sport age and whether they are national sporter or not. The group of research sample consistof 84 women and 104 man aged between 17-28, total188 students. Aim tendency of students were stated by ‘Duty and EgoTendency Scale in Sports’ improved by Duda (1989; 1992) and life satisfaction of them were specified by ‘Life Satisfaction Scale’ improved by Diener and colleagues (1985). To determine demographic features of students, ‘Personel Information Form’ prepared by the researcher was used. Analiysis of datas obtained was performed in SPSS 20.0 package program by using T-test amd One way Anova test. In researcher, in case of the relationship between the point of life satisfaction and duty and ego tendency of students and sexuality, age veriables; a meaningful difference was detected. For sport age variiable, a meaningful difference in ego levels was found again. In examination of whether they are national sporter or not, only in ego criteria, a meaningful difference was present.
