Aim


International Journal of Sport Culture and Science (IntJSCS) aims to provide an international scholarly platform for the dissemination of high-quality, peer-reviewed research addressing the training-related, social, cultural, managerial, and educational dimensions of sport and physical activity.

The journal seeks to advance scientific knowledge by publishing original empirical studies, theoretical analyses, and systematic reviews that examine sport and exercise as phenomena shaped by training processes, performance optimization, social contexts, cultural structures, and educational practices.

IntJSCS encourages interdisciplinary research that integrates training and exercise sciences with social and behavioral perspectives, contributing to both theoretical development and applied practice in sport.

Scope

The scope of IntJSCS includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

Training sciences and performance analysis

Exercise physiology and sport performance

Biomechanics and movement analysis in sport

Physical training, conditioning, and adaptation processes

Sport management and sport organizations

Sport sociology and cultural studies of sport

Sport education and pedagogy

Sport policy, governance, and ethics

Psychological and social aspects of sport participation

Interdisciplinary studies linking training sciences with social sciences

The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, and conceptual papers that demonstrate methodological rigor and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in both sport training sciences and sport-related social sciences.

Researchers in training sciences and exercise science

Sport scientists and performance specialists

Sport educators and coaches

Sport managers and administrators

Policymakers and practitioners in sport and physical activity

1)  Copyright & Responsibility: Submitting a manuscript to this journal means that the author(s) agree;

Ø    that this manuscript has not been published or sent for publication elsewhere;

Ø    they have responsibility of the contents and authenticity of the article;

Ø    the journal and author(s) have same right for the copyright of the article and either of the journal or author(s) can use it by anyway  without noting the other party.

Ø   Author (s) should clearly explain any contributions recieved from other parties, any financial support recieved either from individuals and/or institutions, and also any kinds of conflict of interest. 

Ø    Author(s) should add an explanation footnote to the title if the manuscript was presented in a conference or reproduced from a dissertation.

 

2) Originality: Submitting your manuscript to our journal, we understand that this it is an original manuscript and is unpublished work and is not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author’s own work, in whole or in part without proper citation is not tolerated by the journal. Manuscripts submitted to the journal may be checked for originality using anti-plagiarism software. Our journal uses CrossCheck in order to ensure the originality and avoid any kinds of plagiarism. 

 

3) Open Access Policy: The journal is based on open access policy. All the articles published in this journal can be reached free of charge any time through a regular internet connection. Therefore, all our articles have free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, distribute, copy, share, print, search, on link to the full text of these articles, crawl them for indexing by ahy of the indexes and databases, or use them for any kinds of legal purpose without any financial, legal, or technical restrictions.  For the full details of this policy please refer to Budapest Open Access Initiative.

 

4) Publication Costs: There is NO FEE to publish articles in this journal. We don't ask for any charges under name of article submission or processing cost. 

 

5) Language: The first issue of IntJSCS was published exceptionally in Turkish. All the other issues are/will be published only in English. Manuscripts written by Turkish authors also may optionally have Turkish abstracts. Special issues may also be published in alternative languages, but English abstract will be necassary in this case. 

 

6) Manuscript Preparation

Ø    Each manuscript is suggested to include the following components, but not necessarily to follow it exactly;

(1) Title: including the complete article title; each author’s full name; institution(s) with which each author is affiliated, with city, state/province, zip code, and country; and the name, complete postal address, telephone number, and at least one email address for author(s). IT IS NECESSARY to have EACH AUTHOR's full contact details!

(2) Abstract (not less than 100 words and more than 200 words; including Background, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussions)

(3) Key Words (not less than 3 words and more than 8 words)

(4) Introduction

(5) Materials and Methods

(6) Findings / Results

(7) Discussions / Conclusions

(8) Acknowledgments (if applicable - And if there is a funding resource, it has UTMOST importance to explain it in this part!)) 

(9) References

Manuscript length for a research paper should be 5 to 15 pages.

 

Ø    Manuscripts Submission

Authors should register with this web site and upload article through “article submission”

 

Ø    Manuscript template

Manuscripts should be prepared with The Microsoft Word file; Font: Normal, Times New Roman, 12 pt, single space; Indent: Type 6 spaces in the beginning of each new paragraph; Page Setup: Paper-Letter size; Margins-2.5 cm each side; Title: Use Title Case in the title and subtitles (e.g. “The Relationship between Multiple Intelligence and Academic Motivation”); Figures and Tables: Use full word of figure and table (e.g. Figure 1. Relationship Diagram between MI and AM, Table 1. Annual Income of Target Groups)

 

Ø    References (APA style): Cite references in the text as “last name, year”, e.g. (Turkmen, 2003). For multiple authors and page numbers in the text, e.g. (Turkmen et al., 2013:65).

References should be listed in alphabetical order, and include all the authors’ last names and initials, title, journal, year, volume, issue, and pages etc.

Publication Ethics Statement

Publication ethics require authors, editors, referees and publishers involved in the production of academic knowledge to act within the framework of scientific honesty, impartiality and transparency. The International Journal of Sport Culture and Science expects all parties involved in the publication process to adhere to the following ethical principles:
- Originality and avoidance of plagiarism in scientific research,
- Correct citation and referencing,
- Disclosure of conflicts of interest,
- Conducting evaluation processes confidentially,
- Correction or retraction of research and publication errors.

Authors' Ethical Responsibilities
Author(s):
- Undertake that the studies they submit to our journal are original and have not been simultaneously submitted to another journal.
- Avoid all forms of plagiarism, forgery, distortion and re-publication.
- Responsible for the reliability and accuracy of the data used in their studies.
- Ethics committee approval must be obtained when necessary and must be clearly stated in the article.
- All sources used must be fully specified in accordance with the APA 7 reference system.

- All authors must fill out and sign the Copyright Transfer Form completely.

- If there is a conflict of interest regarding the study, they must declare this clearly.

- They must be ready to provide the raw data related to the study if requested by the editor.

- They must immediately share with the editor any significant errors they notice in their published or under evaluation articles and support the necessary corrections or retractions.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Editor
- They must adopt an impartial, transparent and fair approach at every stage of the publication process.
- They must effectively manage communication between authors, referees and readers; they must protect confidentiality and impartiality in the process.
- They conduct the preliminary evaluation by evaluating the scientific contribution, originality and field suitability of the submitted articles.
- They are not involved in the evaluation process of the study in question in cases where a conflict of interest may occur.
- They ensure that the referees are determined according to the principles of impartiality and expertise.
- In case of suspected violation of publication ethics, it initiates the necessary investigations and implements the decisions of correction, retraction or explanation according to the results.

Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
Referees:
- Must conduct evaluations in accordance with the double-blind refereeing process and protect the confidentiality of the process.
- Must accept to evaluate only studies within the scope of their expertise.
- Must display an objective, scientific and constructive attitude in their evaluations.
- Must take care to complete the refereeing duty within the given time.
- In cases where there is a conflict of interest during the evaluation process, the editor must be informed and the referee must resign.
- When criticizing scientific content, personal criticism must be avoided and feedback must be provided within the framework of academic courtesy.

Responsibilities of the Publisher
- The journal management acts in accordance with the principles of impartiality and transparency during the publication process.
- In case an unethical situation is detected, it is responsible for the retraction, correction or editorial explanation.
- All published content is archived, protected and made available to the public.

Publication Policy
- All articles published in our journal are offered free of charge with an online open access policy.
- Articles are published after going through editorial control, plagiarism detection (iThenticate etc.) and double-blind refereeing processes.
- All content in our journal is licensed with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
- All articles are evaluated on the condition that an ethics committee document is submitted in studies requiring ethics committee approval.
- The Editorial Board may reject studies with low scientific contribution, ethically problematic or formally incomplete during the preliminary evaluation process.

-It has been prepared by taking into account the HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION ETHICS GUIDELINE and the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).


Plagiarism and Research Misconduct
- All submitted studies are checked for plagiarism using software such as iThenticate.
- Studies with a similarity rate above 20% are not evaluated.
- Unethical behaviors such as fake data, fabricated findings, deliberate distortion or adding/removing authors are seriously evaluated by our journal and may be reported to the relevant institutions.

Dergi, bilimsel araştırmaları alana ücretsiz sunmanın bilginin küresel paylaşımını artıracağı ilkesini benimseyerek, içeriğine anında açık erişim sağlamaktadır. Dergide hiç bir ücret talep edilmemektedir.
