Double-Blind Review Process
Blind refereeing is a method applied to publish scientific publications with the highest quality. Blind refereeing is at the heart of good scientific publishing and is carried out by all reputable journals. Our referees play a very important role in maintaining the high standards of our Journal.
All articles sent to our International Journal of Sport Culture and Science are scientifically evaluated with the double-blind method. The articles sent must not have been published anywhere before and must not have been decided to be published. For this reason, the names of the referees are not published. Authors and referees must make every effort to keep their identities confidential. For this purpose, authors, editors, referees, etc. who send files to the system must pay attention to the following points regarding the text and files. Authors must delete places in the text that mention their names and institutions. Including footnotes, etc. subtexts.
Invitation Process to Referees
The response period to the invitation sent to the referee to make an evaluation is 7 days, and the period given to the referees who accept the invitation to make an evaluation is 15 days. The 15-day period in which the referee will evaluate the publication starts with the acceptance and approval of the invitation. If the referee cannot evaluate the work within the specified period, an additional 7 days are given. If the referee does not evaluate the article within this period, a new referee is invited by the field editor. Referee selections are made according to the subject of the article from the journal referee list or the dergipark system. For this purpose, referees who are at least a doctorate level and who have conducted studies related to the subject of the journal are scanned on academic search sites and invitations are sent.
Our referee database is constantly updated, and referees are randomly assigned considering their areas of expertise. The following are the issues we expect our referees to consider when evaluating articles:
• Originality and contribution to the literature
• Potential interest of a wide range of social scientists and/or practitioners
• Potential interest of a broad audience
• Comprehensive evaluation of existing literature
• Adequacy of methodology, analysis, and interpretation
• Clear, concise, and fluent style of expression
Evaluation of the Status of the Article
If two different referees give an opinion that the article is "Appropriate for Publication", the article will be published in the journal. If two different referees give an opinion that the article is "Not Appropriate for Publication", the article will be rejected. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief. The editor's decision, together with the referees' recommendations, is communicated to the author(s).
