Family Participation Strategies of Preschool Teachers

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the family participation strategies of teachers who work in preschool education institutions. Descriptive method scanning study was used. The universe of the study consists of 230 teachers from 23 schools in Elazığ province center and 80 teachers from 8 schools in Bingöl province center in the academic year of 2016-2017. In the provinces, it is thought that the number of preschool schools is small and the number of teachers working in these schools is low, and all the schools have been reached without using sampling method. 159 measurement tools from Elazığ and 75 measurement tools from Bingöl province were taken into consideration. The scale of "The Scale for Determining Family Participation Strategies Implemented by Preschool Teachers (AKSBÖ)” used in the research was developed by Keleş and Dikici Sığırtmaç (2016). It has been determined that pre-school teachers apply the subscales of teacher-supported family communication and school management-home visits and family participation strategies in the whole scale in the level of often; the family participation strategies in the sub-dimension of teacher-family information in the level of occasionally and family participation strategies in the sub-dimension of family education in the level of rarely.
