Scientific and technological developments lead to changes and innovations in every part of life. Connected toys, which are a type of objects associated with the Internet and used to connect to the Internet through intermediaries such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or mobile networks, have also become the new generation toys of children in today's world. These toys, which are used in many fields such as entertainment, education and health, and for different purposes, have a special significance in the protection of personal data. Thus, these toys are in the nature of accessing the personal data of children, parents and third parties. The protection of personal data is a common subject of different branches of law. In this context, it is aimed to protect personal data with different regulations both in international and domestic law documents. It is crucial to examine the situation in domestic law together with the Council of Europe and European Union documents. In the article, national and international regulations will be discussed in terms of the dangers of the child's personal data and protection from it, connected toys. The concept of consent has a special significance in the protection of personal data. For this reason, the “European Union General Data Protection Regulation”, which deals with consent separately and specifically for children, and the issue of consent in Turkish law will be examined comparatively.
