Writing Rules

Only one article of an author may be published in each issue.


Articles should not exceed 10,000 words; the articles exceeding the limit of 10,000 words, including Turkish / English titles, Turkish / English abstracts, Turkish / English keywords, main text, footnotes, and bibliography, will be rejected without the refereeing process

A.  Inonu University Law Review (InULR) does not charge evaluation, publication, and processing fees from the Author(s).


B. Referee fee is not paid for the InULR referees.

C. The Policy of WaiverA publication of an article reviewed by the referee may be waived before the publication of the journal.

D.  The plagiarism/similarity ratio is determined as a maximum %15 by InULR Editorial Board.

The InULR does not accept unsolicited manuscripts. All the articles which are sent to InULR should conform to the requirements listed below.


Limitation of Words: Since 2017, the limit on the number of words in articles submitted to the journal is minimum 4,000 and maximum 10,000.


1. Typeface: The general body of the article should be in Microsoft Word format and Times New Roman font, in 1.5 Line Spacing, and in justified text version. There should be a space after any punctuation marks.

 

2. Chapter, Heading, Sub-heading: “Heading 1” of the article should be written in the form of 11 font points, aligned left, bold and uppercase. “Heading 2” of the article should be written in the form of 11 font point, aligned left, bold and title case. “Heading 3”,”Heading4”, “Heading 5”, “Heading 6” should be in turn written in the form of 11 font point, aligned left and titlecase.

3. Footnotes & Explanations: The footnotes are placed in sequence in the text indicated by small numbers (1,2,3...) at relevant lines both in order to show reference and make annotation in the form of 9 font size, single line space. Furthermore, the source of the footnote should be written in the same number indicated above which is located in the separated part of the page by footnote line.

 

4. Alignment and Line Spacing: The main body of the text of the article should be written in the form of 1,5 line spacing, justified to the two side, put a space after any heading. The paragraphs should be written single space inside in compare to above paragraph and without additional space. However, direct quotations which are more than three lines and in inverted commas (“...”) should be written in a separated paragraph, 1.5 cm inside the paragraph, with single line spacing and in the form of 10 font points.

 

5. Page Numbers: Page numbers should be indicated by numerals sequentially (1, 2, 3...) at the right side of the bottom of the page which should start at the first page of the article.

 

6. Abstract: It is required that both the Turkish and English abstracts and Turkish and English version of headings and keywords should be sent. The abstract should be in the Times New Roman font type and 10 font points. The English abstract should be prepared as meticulous as the Turkish version of the abstract since the abstract provides the article with exposure to the international academic environment.

7. Introduction section: Each article must contain an introduction section. 

8. Footnotes and Citation: The footnotes are generally used for the following two aims: 1) To provide additional information or explanation about a concept or subject in the main text; 2) To show reference at the bottom of the page in order to direct or indirect citation. The footnotes should be numbered in the form of “1,2,3...” both providing information and explanation or citation. Any space should be left after the number of the footnote in main text or the number at the bottom of the page and any special character should be put before or after the numbers at the bottom of the page. The footnote text at the bottom of the page should be written in single line spacing and 10 font points and located on a line with main text.

When a source is presented by a reference: In the first reference that the source is mentioned, the detailed record of the source should be given in conformity with the principles given in this rules to provide the information about the source. In cases that the same source is used in further references, the brief record of the source should be given in accordance with the examples provided below.
