Aim & Scope
İstanbul Ticaret University Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed journal published three times per year (June, September, December). The aim of the journal is to publish scholarly work in the fields of social sciences and provide a platform for academic exchange between various disciplines.
İstanbul Ticaret University Journal of Social Sciences publishes academic research in the fields of Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Law, Education, Psychology, Communication, Management and Business Administration.
Author Guidelines
All manuscripts should include an Abstract, Introduction, Main Section(s), Conclusion, References, and Contact Information. Authors are advised to check the manuscripts for grammar before submission. The article should not exceed 8000 (eight thousand) words. The text should be written in Times New Roman font, 11 pt, justified, 1.5 line spacing, with paragraph values of 6pt before and after, without indentation.
In-text citations should be cited using APA 6 style (https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/citations).
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this section is to provide the reader with general information about the article. A general introduction on the subject should be made. Sentences should be written in a clear and fluent language, the subject of the study should be stated, the research question should be explained and the purpose of the study and its contribution to the field should be revealed. Figures or tables should not be used in the introduction.
The introduction can be organized as follows:
Introductory paragraph where the topic is generally evaluated
The main topic of the subject or the information/theory on which the study is based, etc.
Purpose and originality of the study
Specifying the topics in the article
Giving information about the data/method used
CONCEPTUAL AND THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK/LITERATURE
In this section, a literature review should be given within the scope of the study. This section can be divided into sub-sections depending on the purpose of the study. While creating the headings, attention should be paid to the hierarchical relationship between the headings. Care should be taken not to use abbreviations in section titles. Details on the organization of the subsections, including sample figures, tables and equations, are given below.

FINDINGS
All figures and tables should be numbered consecutively. It should be ensured that the first instance of the inserted figure or table being cited occurred before the presentation of the figure or table. Attention should be paid to the form of citation.
CONCLUSION, DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The authors are expected to present the results of the study and how these results can be interpreted in the perspective of previous studies. The implications of the findings should be discussed clearly. Suggestions for future research can also be presented.

All the sources cited in the text should be added to the References according to APA 6 style.

Publication Ethics
The publication processes of İstanbul Ticaret University Journal of Social Sciences are based on the unbiased production, development and sharing of knowledge through the scientific method.
Peer-reviewed articles are studies that ensure the application of the scientific method and impartiality. In the realization of scientific production, all components of the publication process; publisher, editors, authors, referees and readers must comply with ethical principles. In this context, the publication ethics and open access policy of İstanbul Ticaret University Journal of Social Sciences requires all components of the publication process to comply with ethical principles in line with the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in open access (for example, “Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors; ‘Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors’ and ‘COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors’).
If cases such as manipulation, distortion and fabrication of the data used in the articles are detected, the institution where the author of the article works will be officially notified and the article will be rejected. Our journal has the right to request the output files of the analysis results from the authors according to the feedback given by the editor and/or referees.
Only 1 (one) of the studies uploaded to the system belonging to the same author(s) within one (year) will be evaluated and if accepted, it is published.

Lisans eğitimini İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü’nde 2001 yılında tamamladı. Lisansüstü çalışmalarını İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent Üniversitesi'nde sürdürdü ve Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi alanında 2002'de yüksek lisans derecesini, 2010'da doktora unvanını aldı. 2018’de Siyasal Hayat ve Kurumlar bilim alanında Doçent unvanını kazandı. 2020'den beri İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü'nde görev yapmaktadır. Akademik çalışmaları ağırlıklı olarak Türkiye Siyaseti, Türk Siyasal Düşüncesi genel başlığı altında Türkiye’de siyasal sistem tartışmaları, cumhurbaşkanlığı, demokratikleşme, muhafazakârlık, Batılılaşma ve kadın konularında yoğunlaşmaktadır. Çalışmalarından bazıları Turkish Studies, Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, Bilig: Türk Dünyası Araştırmaları Dergisi, Studia Europejskie – Studies in European Affairs, Liberal Düşünce ve Muhafazakâr Düşünce dergilerinde yayımlanmıştır.

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Umut Aydın, İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi Yönetim Bilişim Sistemleri (İngilizce) Bölümü’nde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Lisans eğitimini Hatay Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi Havacılık Yönetimi Bölümü’nde (eski adıyla Sivil Hava Ulaştırma İşletmeciliği) tamamlamış, yüksek lisans ve doktora derecelerini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Lisansüstü Eğitim Enstitüsü, İşletme Anabilim Dalı’nda, çalışma alanı olarak nicel karar yöntemlerine odaklanarak almıştır. Çalışmaları; çok kriterli karar verme yöntemleri, hava taşımacılığı, lojistik sistemler ve sürdürülebilirlik konularına odaklanmakta olup, alanında saygın ve hakemli akademik dergilerde yayımlanmıştır. Araştırma ilgi alanları, özellikle nicel karar verme yöntemleri ve karar analitiği yaklaşımları çerçevesinde şekillenmektedir.

Prof. Hanifi Parlar completed his undergraduate education in Biology Teaching at Marmara University (1992), his master's degree in Educational Management and Supervision at Yeditepe University (2006), and his doctorate in the same field at Marmara University (2012). After working for 10 years in various private institutions in different positions such as teacher, deputy school principal, school principal, general manager, he was appointed to Istanbul Commerce University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Educational Sciences as an Assistant Professor in 2012. Parlar, who became an Associate Professor in 2018, became a Professor in the field of Educational Sciences in 2024. Prof. Parlar currently works for Istanbul Commerce University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Educational Sciences. Prof. Parlar has many articles published in journals indexed in national and international directories. Prof. Parlar's research areas include capacity building, school effectiveness, leadership development, teacher professionalism, organizational development, teaching strategies and innovation in education.
Asst. Prof. Mefule Fındıkçı Erdoğan is the assistant professor in the Department of Business at Istanbul Ticaret University. Also, she is the deputy director of the Academy of Research and Project Development at Istanbul Ticaret University. She holds a doctorate degree in Econometrics from Marmara University and Financial Economics from Istanbul Ticaret University. is the member of TUBA- Sustainable Development and Finance Working Group.
Oya Şakı Aydın (Prof. Dr.), Marmara Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi Radyo Televizyon Sinema bölümü mezunudur. Galatasaray Üniversitesinde yüksek lisansını tamamladıktan sonra Marmara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’ne bağlı İletişim Bilimleri doktora programından 2008 yılında mezun olmuştur. 2003 yılından bu yana İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi’nde görev yapmaktadır. Medyayı Okumak: İletişim, Kültür, Edebiyat Üzerine Notlar (Kırk Yayınevi, 2013) ve Arenadan Ekrana Şöhret Kültürü (İmge Kitabevi Yayınları, 2018) başlıca yayınlarıdır. Bunların dışında çeşitli çeviri kitapları ve medya içerikleri, popüler kültür, izleyici araştırmaları ve medya okuryazarlığı üzerine çok sayıda bildiri, makale ve yazısı bulunmaktadır. Yazar, son yıllarda özellikle yeni iletişim teknolojileri, sosyal medya ve dijital oyunlar vb. konularla ilgilenmektedir.
