Basis of Publication

AIM AND SCOPE

The articles that can be sent to the journal are horticulture, plant protection, plant and animal production, biosystem engineering, food engineering, molecular biology and genetic, landscape architecture, fisheries, agricultural economy, agricultural mechanization, agricultural structures and irrigation, field crops, soil science and plant nutrition, veterinary and animal science. The journal aims to publish research and compilation studies in Turkish and English.

Journal of agriculture is a refereed, academic, scientific, international journal published twice a year, in June and December. Turkish and English articles are accepted and are published online.

Journal of Agriculture is a refereed international journal. DergiPark started its activities in May-2018 in order to publish research and compilation articles prepared in the field of agriculture and life sciences with open access. The languages ​​supported by the journal are Turkish and English. 2 (two) issues are published annually.
Articles submitted to the journal are first reviewed by the editor in terms of shape and content. Unsuitable ones are sent back to the responsible author.
Submitted articles are checked against plagiarism by the authors, excluding the sources. It is mandatory that the similarity rate is below 20% in the controls. Publications over 20% are rejected by analyzing plagiarism reports.
It is mandatory that the works to be published have not been published anywhere or sent to any journal to be published.
Articles approved by the editor are sent to 2 (two) reviewers. Articles whose referee review and correction process are completed are published.

Open Access Policy
The articles published in Journal of Agriculture are available with open access in full text. The publication process in Journal of Agriculture is the basis of developing and disseminating information objectively and respectfully. Therefore, the procedures in this process improve the quality of the studies. Referees are the studies that support and realize the scientific method. At this point, it is essential that all parties involved in the publishing process (authors, readers and researchers, publishers, referees and editors) comply with ethical anxiety standards.

Privacy Statement
Confidential information about the articles published on the web page of Journal of Agriculture and the articles at about the evaluation stage will be used only for the explained purposes of the journal and shall not be open for any other purpose or for use by other people.

Publication Fee
Journal of Agriculture does not require any transaction and publication fees for the articles submitted to the journal.

Ethics Policy
The following ethical duties and responsibilities are written in the light of the guidelines and policies prepared by the Editorial Ethics Committee (COPE).
For Authors:
The author (s) should submit the original works to the journal. If they use or use other works, they should make in-text and final text references accurate and complete.
Individuals who do not contribute to the study at the intellectual level should not be cited as authors.
If the articles sent for publication are subject to conflicting interests or relationships, they should be disclosed.
Authors may be asked to provide raw data during the review of their articles. In such a case, the author (s) should be ready to publish such data and information to publications and scientific boards.
The author (s) must document the consent of the participants and the necessary permissions regarding the sharing and research / analysis of the data used.
The author (s) is responsible for notifying the magazine or publisher and collaborating with editors during the correction or withdrawal process if they notice an error in their early release or publication process.
Authors cannot submit their work to more than one journal at a time. Each presentation can be made only after the completion of the previous one. A study published in another journal cannot be sent to Journal of Agriculture.
In a study whose review process has already started, the responsibilities of the author (for example: adding authors, reordering author names) cannot be changed.

Reviewers must
agree to review only in their subject of expertise.
review in an unbiased and confidential manner.
inform the editor of the journal if they think that they encounter conflict of interests and decline to review the manuscript during the review process.
dispose the manuscripts they have reviewed in accordance with the principle of confidentiality after the review process. Reviewers can use the final versions of the manuscripts they have reviewed only after publication.
review the manuscript objectively and only in terms of its content and ensure that nationality, gender, religious and political beliefs, and economic apprehension do not influence the review.
review the manuscript in a constructive and kind tone, avoid making personal comments including hostility, slander and insult.
review the manuscript they have agreed to review on time and in accordance with the ethical rules stated above.

The review process at Journal of Agriculture is carried out on the principle of double blind review. Reviewers do not contact the authors directly, and the reviews and comments are conveyed through the journal management system. In this process, the reviewer views on the evaluation forms and full texts are assigned to the author(s) by the editor.

Blind Review and Evaluation Process

Blind peer review is a method applied to ensure that scientific publications are of the highest quality. This method forms the basis of the objective evaluation of scientific studies and is preferred by many scientific journals. Reviewers' opinions have a decisive role in the publication quality of the Journal of Agriculture and Nature. All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Agriculture and Nature are evaluated blindly according to the following steps.

Blinded Review Type

Journal of Agriculture and Nature uses the double-blinding method in the evaluation process of all studies. In the double-blind method, the identities of the authors and reviewers are concealed.

Initial Evaluation Process

The manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Agriculture and Nature are first evaluated by the editors. At this stage, manuscripts that do not comply with the purpose and scope of the journal, are weak in terms of language and expression rules in Turkish and English, contain critical errors in scientific terms, have no original value and do not meet the publication policies are rejected. Authors of rejected manuscripts are notified within two weeks at the latest from the date of submission. The eligible studies are sent to a Department editor for preliminary evaluation.

Preliminary Evaluation Process

During the pre-evaluation process, the section editors examine the introduction, material and method, findings, conclusion, evaluation and discussion sections of the manuscripts in detail in terms of journal publication policies and scope and originality. As a result of this review, unsuitable manuscripts are returned with the department editor's evaluation report within four weeks at the latest.

Refereeing Process

The manuscripts are sent to referees according to their content and the expertise of the referees. The section editor, who reviews the manuscript, recommends at least two referees from the referee pool of the Journal of Agriculture and Nature according to their areas of expertise or may recommend new referees appropriate to the field of the manuscript. Care is taken to ensure that each referee is from different institutions and not from the same institution as the referees. The referee suggestions received from the department editor are evaluated by the editors and the manuscripts are forwarded to the referees. Reviewers must guarantee that they will not share any process and documents about the studies they evaluate.

Referee Evaluation Process

The time given to the referees for the peer review process is 4 weeks. Corrections received from reviewers or editors must be completed by the authors within 1 month. The reviewers can decide on the appropriateness of a manuscript by reviewing the revisions, or they can request multiple revisions if necessary. The comments received from the reviewers are reviewed by the Section editor within 2 weeks at the latest. As a result of this review, the Section editor submits his/her final decision on the study to the editors.

Editorial Board Decision

The editors prepare the editorial board opinions on the study based on the opinions of the Section editor and referees. The prepared opinions are sent by the editor to the author(s) within 1 week at the latest together with the suggestions of the Section editor and referees. In this process, manuscripts with a negative opinion are returned without requesting a plagiarism check.


Plagiarism Policy
Articles submitted to the Journal of Agriculture are checked against plagiarism by the "iThenticate Plagiarism Detection" and "Turnitin" software, which are available for personal use by the authors. The similarity ratio must be below 20%, excluding resources, in the controls.

Copyright Transfer Agreement
All authors must be accepted and declared that
1. All kinds of publication rights belong to Journal of Agriculture.
2. The manuscript complies with the rules of publication specified by the journal,
3. The article is original and is not previously published or not under the evaluation process for publication,
4. Scientific and ethical responsibility belongs to authors and in case that other authors cannot be reached; all authors are aware of the work and that the responsibilities of other authors are taken over by the first author of the article.
The authors of all articles submitted to Journal of Agriculture should sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement stated above. This contract text should be downloaded on article submission page and uploaded to the system after signed by all authors.
